i feel you. while it will not solve physical pain, seeking help by a mental professional could aid finding strategies to deal with the frustration, lack of perspective amd depression that comes from it.

i hope you find a way that works for you! rest assured you can always come here to rant, blow off steam and find people in similar situations

DVDs were released with a region code to prevent e.g. Europeans to buy and use DVDs from the Americas or Asia. Not 100% sure it's that, but these codes were set per player and could (if at all) only be reset twice.

Or possibly color format (NTSC vs PAL)

i don't think so (: toxoplasma IIRC alters a host's behavior in favor of cats, so that it can infect those - since cats are the only ones it can reproduce in. not as colorful and funky as the exapmle here, but similarly clever/complex

so you never heard of toxoplasma?

creepy? inspiring!

Okay, I've decided that a break from Ibis photos is in order (Robin told me to post his portrait, and what Robin wants he gets)

Eurasian Robin who let me get real close this morning.

95 years ago today King Alexander changed the name of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes to Kingdom of Yugoslavia

…and changed the internal divisions from the 33 oblasts to nine new banovinas.

i'm looking for a place/means/medium for texts that i write. content is essays on topics that i find worthy writing about with hints towars philosophy (i guess).

twenty years ago the right answer to my question would have been a (we-)blog - what's the current day equivalent for such a venture?

optimally, a solution would neither be based on lock-ins, data collection/aggregation or other shady business and would be freely (e.g. in a web browser, no login/registration required) and easily accessible.

.. and why is this community against them?
