Aw, what a shame! I have some good memories going there as a kid with my mum.
With the new heatwaves up in the northern hemisphere I am not looking forward to our turn. I bet this year the public swimming pools and beaches will be pretty full because of this!
Yeah after at least 2 mild summers, it really does seem like our time is up. El Nino is also flagged for this summer http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/enso/outlook/

Mid North SA - the signs are already there. There was a thunderstorm around mid night. I had to go out and stow something. Noticed it was 14C. That is unusually warm here for a midnight in July.

2 months later with spring in full force, the outback towns are already getting above 35's - so I'm definitely not looking forward to our peak summer!
