Is this possible with NAT-T? What are some issues I can come across?

I just bought a new PRO-24-POE switch. Its connected to the Aggregation switch.

How do i tag everything connected to the PRO-24-POE switch to a VLAN, while maintaining access. I created a VLAN5 network and a VLAN5 port profile.

I adopted the switch, set a static IP from my main network, everything is fine.

  • Aggregation Switch: Set the switch port to VLAN5, accepts, and switch goes offline.
  • Aggregation Switch: Set port profile to VLAN5, accepts, switch goes offline.
  • PRO-24-POE Switch: Static IP to main network. No issue.
  • PRO-24-POE Switch: Static IP to main network. Network Override to VLAN5. Accepts, goes offline

Whats the correct way to set up that switch? Every time it goes off, I need to factory reset and readopt it again.

ALSO

  • DHCP on switch: Aggregation Switch to Port Profile - VLAN5. Goes offline. Reverting is fine.
  • DHCP on switch: Aggregation Switch, Primary Network to vlan5. Goes offline. Needs readopting.

So as the business has grown and equipment has moved around, I previously swapped from a USG to a USG-Pro. That was pretty straightforward as we use cloud hosting for our site management.

But my understanding is that UDM-Pro cannot be adopted or managed by cloud based services and I must use the software suite installed on the device to host my site.

When I had previously moved from a Cloud Key Gen1 to the cloud hosting service, I made a backup of the configuration from the cloud key and then imported it into the hosting service. Can I do the opposite in reverse? If so, how do I get the backup data from the cloud host into the UDM-Pro?

At this point, assuming it is the same concept, I'm thinking make a backup, plug the UDM-Pro into my existing network and then use a laptop to connect to it and upload the backup? Then swap the USG out?

Finally, we use the cloud service to set up Site to Site VPNs and remote access VPNs between the office and employees for ease of WFH. Is there a methodology to set up a Site to Site VPN without them being controlled by a common controller?

Thanks for any help or assistance!

EDIT - UDM-Pro. Titles are hard.

Looking to monitor kids searches and pages viewed in more detail than what is provided in Unifi app. Just want to keep pulse on activities before going into official parental mode. Is this info located in logs? If so, what ones? Or is there a better solution?

So I did something stupid...

I was setting up a L2TP VPN and Radius server for authentication through my USG, and was gone add Radius auth. for the wired and wireless clients to the network some time later.

For some reason I checked RADIUS Assigned VLAN Support for wired and wireless networks without thinking it through, with the result that the PC running the network application got assigned to a VLAN/new IP address. Since it has a new address (I assume), none of the Unifi devices will connect to it, so I can’t control them or the Radius server/USG any more.

This PC has a wired connection, and I can’t figure out how to connect to the network with 802.1X / Radius user (so it ends up in main LAN) and restore connection between Unifi devices and Network application.

I have a Radius user without a VLAN tag with

Tunnel type: 13 - Virtual LANs (VLAN)

Tunnel medium type: 6 - 802 (includes all 802 media plus

Where do I go from here, or how could I fix this some other way.

Hi all, a 2nd issue on my newly stood up Unifi network (UDM SE to USW-24 Pro, to 8 x older UAP-AC-Pro/LR units).

Interestingly, one LR unit on one floor, is meshing to the LR unit below it in another floor. Yet, not to the AC Pro about 50 feet away with clear line of sight. Just interesting.

But I'm wondering, what options does the Unifi stuff give for troubleshooting why an AP decided to mesh to another AP instead of using it's wired link back to the USW-24 Pro? Of course I assume the cable is the problem. But there's nothing in logs that I see for the APs that say anything about this. The AP gets power from the PoE port, so I assume some pins are working. But there's nothing in any logs, I believe, to indicate "Pin 1 short, switching to Mesh mode" or whatever.

Does Unifi stuff have any capabilities on this? I'm used to Meraki switches telling you when ports are having issues and why. Or am I on my way onsite to do a cable qualification test here? :)

What are people using for new device discovery with a non-M1 Mac? Disappointing to see the Chrome tool is no longer supported and WiFiman does not work with anything other than a M1.

Hi everyone,

Was wondering if it would be possible to connect an aggregation pro switch with another non-pro aggregation switch via cat6a cable using 10G SFP+ transceiver modules. Wasn’t sure if the SFP25 slots on the pro model would accommodate the 10Gb SFP+ transceiver modules (I am using Mikrotik S10 ones).

Also, would I be able to aggregate 2 of the SFP25 ports on the Pro with 2 of the 10G SFP+ ports on the non-pro?

Thanks so much!!

Hello all,

I need your advice. I have two hotels which I switched to Ubiquiti in 2015 and which can now be renewed. Unfortunately I don't really read much good about the new 6 models. I have 42 APs in the first hotel (all old AP Pro) and 32 APs in the second hotel (AP pro too). It is important to know that in the second hotel I need APs that have a second port, because the ap for telephony are connected there and must be able to log on to a VLAN. So the VLAN need to be looped through on the 2 port as well.

Do we have people here that could help me with this? Because with the effort, I can't afford to have customers with Apple products again where the performance sucks. I think this is a significant problem especially with LR.

Thanks for your help. I hope my English is halfway understandable.

So I'm building a new home, and currently this is what I am planning with regards the home network.

  1. Gateway: Unifi Dream Router:
  2. Switch:
  3. APs: mix of U6+ () & U6 In Wall ()
  4. Reolink PoE NVR & PoE Cameras:

My concern is only with the gateway, the Unifi Dream Router,

will this suffice/work, or would I need something like the Unifi Dream Machine Pro:

So I have a UDR in a holiday home in Portugal to target the UK for the TV. But it doesn’t seem to work. The 4 individual firesticks work if I install Nord on each… but I’d like to have it manageable from home.

I have set up the NordVPN with OpenVPN and the correct user, password and config file. Teleport and VPN > VPN Client Called it NordVPN Uptime shows it’s working.

2 Networks - Default and TV 2 Wifi - WiFi and WiFiVPN

Traffic Management > Routes All Traffic Target: WiFiVPN Interface: NordVPN Name: RouteVPN

But this isn’t working it seems?

On each of my previous home routers were DHCP pools 192.168.1.x, now I will be configuring a UDM in a rack and would like to use 10.0.0.x

Can I do this? GPT claims that I will be "wasting ip addresses" but can't explain what exactly is going on.

I tried IPv6 Prefix Delegation of 64, 60, 59, 54 on a UDM Pro SE behind a Comcast modem in bridge mode. I can’t seem to get clients with IPv6 addresses to be accessible.

For context, I have another site on Cox Business and USG and it works as expected on 60 and clients are accessible outside as desired.

Any pointers on how I can get it working on Comcast?

Hi guys,

The reason for this is because i have a Tahoma Hub to control my awning.

The Hub is on a separate iot vlan with other devices and when im at home i can control it from the main network without any problem.

But when i'm on the go and connect via vpn (teleport, tailscale,....) i have an error that there is no connection.

Whats wrong here?

Thank you for helping

Had a flawless system for 2 years now, then randomly 2 nights ago at 2:45am my nanoHD went offline.

Ive checked the cables, no issues or damage, switched ports on my UniFi poe switch, still nothing.

If I use a new cable entirely (close to the switch) it works

If I use my original cable and then use a poe booster (mains powered) it also works.

So this suggests its power related and not cable. Why would this all of a sudden drop?

From unifi console I can see im only using 36.5/95 W - so plenty of headroom?

At my last apartment, following the standard first access instructions followed by the basic wizard, and a little tweaking was easy; now that I've moved, I'm struggling so hard to figure out why nothing on my network can access the Internet. I've reset the router so many times now, trying various things.

I have an Arris S33 modem, an EdgeRouter 12P, an EdgeSwitch 10x, and an AP LR6, all connected linearly; modem->router->switch->AP.

I have some LANs and they can all talk to each other just fine, no problems accessing the router or switch via any connection method, no problem connecting to the switch from a router connection...

My modem seems to be connected via docsis3.1 (Xfinity) just fine. I can access the Internet if I connect my PC directly to the 2.5Gb port on the S33 modem.

But nothing on my network seems able to access the Internet. I can't ping anything off-site, even from the EdgeRouter's CLI.

For the basic wizard, I set eth9 as my WAN interface, using DHCP. I can't find anything from Xfinity or otherwise saying it should be any different. My modem is wired to this port as it should be.

I'm curious, what would you guys investigate from this point? Can someone just point me in a direction?

I've gone through guides, but they mostly focus on the network side and, based on the local IPs and interconnectivity, this doesn't seem to be my issue; I'm having far less luck finding a good troubleshooting guide about my WAN connection.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Even if they're just 'check this link', or 'if packet capture of your WAN interface shows x, it means y'... I'll take half answers, anything I can get. Thank you so much

Question: Is the $100 upcharge for the Standard 16 worth it because I can connect it to my 8-150 via fiber? Or any other reason?

Background: At our home we recently had a surge through the ISP coax line (now I ran it through the surge protector on the UPS) and the victims were a patch cable, the 4 POE ports on a US-8-60 and ports 3&4 on a US-8-150. I was about to expand anyway, but now we’re short on ports and adding 16 should be enough including future.

We have 300/20 from our ISP for now so the cloud key Gen 2 & USG are the next limiting factors anyway.

Would the gigabeam work for an AI Pro, G5 flex, and a small switch? 8port maybe? Whatever will power the AI, G5 and the gigabeam. I’m being asked to install a camera on a pole about 300’ from the building with no financially feasible way to trench. It’s parking lot the whole way there, and some woods next to it. There’s mains power there (just passing over the pole, no box), but an electrician is going to have to tap into it.

I’m not real good at figuring data rates and such. The rest of the equation is (already installed) a 16 port USW poe to a 48 port pro poe to UDMP and UNVR Pro.

Thanks for the help.

Just (re)installed this UAP-AC-LR at my parents house as their second AP.

It was the first AP I ever bought, first installed in a small apartment, to bigger apartment, to big house and as spare at a client before it ended up here. It was bought in 2015 and has been working flawless ever since.

For many at home projects or even setting up a network for friends or family that want reliable internet without complexity, the ampilfi system is idea! I have used both unifi and amplifi gear and I find from my experience, unless your looking for a full rack setup then amplifi would probably be a better bet, especially compared to the UDR it's a no-brainer IMO to go amplifi
