Is it common to need to continually login? (laguna.chat)

I’m on web in mobile. Based on the behavior so far, tokens or cookies aren’t working well. I honestly don’t know what’s used here yet.. I should do some more research. The bottom line is, I seem to need to log back in every few clicks between communities/instances. Just wondering if this is a common experience right now?

I've been using @lemmy.world as my instance, but with the overload I tought to move to a less crowded instance. However, I can't seem to find any communities when searching. Is this a temporary bug?
