I loved the first season, in spite of reminding me somewhat about Lost. But the fact that it started in space kept my interest in the show. Second season was kind of meh.. So now the question is - is it worth watching the next seasons? How did you like the different seasons? (Please don't reveal too much of what happens from season 3 and onwards, in case I decide to watch..) :)

Movies or limited/anthology series only, please, like Unbelievable or True Detective or Mare of Easttown. I love the thrill of the detective work, don’t care whether I see the crime actually occurring.

I’m not interested in a long running series. I have watched and loved the aforementioned shows and have Netflix, Max, Prime, Apple. Willing to get Hulu again for the right show.

I have tried Mindhunter a couple times and it’s too slow for me.

Thanks!

I vaguely remember watching some episodes of Lost when I was a kid, I think it was at the time it was the in thing to watch. I’ve been watching FROM and so far loving it. I know it’s made by the same folks who made Lost. Is lost a decent watch? Or anything else with similar vibes to FROM? (Already watched Dark & couldn’t get into 1889). Thanks!

Yes, I have been noticing lately in this sub that there are many recommendations to watch this show. If anyone wants to watch this show, please remove your brain and place it somewhere safe before watching, because that's how stupid the character arcs and the plot were. There is no logic and no interesting turns and twists in any of the episodes. People watch zombie and apocalypse movies because it is interesting how people use their brains and intellect, along with power, to save themselves and the whole world. But man, this series has nothing remotely satisfying. If you need a good zombie series, I would suggest "Kingdom", "The Last of Us," and "The Walking Dead (first few seasons)."

Original Title: [US] Pending Train (2023): Japanese. Commuter train plunges into a post-apolacyptic world. Decent alt world / strangers survival show. Quite cheesy, but fun for anyone that liked La Brea or Manifest, it's that kind of bad-good.

"Heart of Stone," a 2023 American spy thriller directed by Tom Harper, features Gal Gadot as a skilled undercover agent infiltrating a terrorist group. Gadot's compelling performance, impressive visuals, and engaging plot bolster the film, despite moments of predictability, an extended runtime, and a slightly underwhelming ending.

It's such a sweet, touching series of finding love for young adults, with Down Syndrome. Filmed in New Zealand.

So I've been watching stranger things since season 1 and I've absolutely adored the show and I've seen so many people share my opinion over the years until right after s4.

After s4 , every post that mentioned stranger things kept getting hate comments about how bad the show was and how they should just end it. People kept nitpicking about the smallest of details even though I thought s4 was the best season so far. It kinda saddens me to see all this hate for a show I've been watching for years now.

What do you guys think? Do you think the hate is warranted?

Hey there! So I'm looking to cut the cord and ditch cable, but I'm not a fan of horror movies at all. I've noticed that a lot of streaming services have a heavy horror focus, so I need some suggestions that cater to my taste. I'm a 30-year-old guy who loves a good laugh and prefers mild movies. I suffer from anxiety, so I'm always on the lookout for something that can distract me without getting my heart racing (similar to About Time). My parents, who are in their 60s, also share the accounts with me, and they're not into horror either. As long as the movies are good and not overly childish, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,

I've been a fan of the classic "Psycho" (1960) for a while now, but I'm in the mood for something similar that can deliver those same intense and suspenseful vibes. Any recommendations for movies that can keep me on the edge of my seat like "Psycho" does? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Just watched The Alienist and absolutely loved it. I really liked the investigative aspect and would’ve liked there to be more romance, so am looking for a series that can provide that.

I’ve already watched Mindhunter and liked that as well.

Thank you!

Hey fellow Netflix enthusiasts! I've been binge-watching some awesome shows lately and I'm craving more. I absolutely loved "Stranger Things," "Dirk Gently," "Wednesday," and "Lucy." One thing I noticed is that all of these shows involve witches or some kind of magical element. So, I'm on the hunt for more shows with that supernatural twist!

I'm really into the whole witchy vibe, so if you know any shows that revolve around witches (or even just have a hint of witchiness), please drop your suggestions below! I'm open to any genre as long as it has that magical touch. Whether it's a dark and mysterious thriller or a light-hearted fantasy, I'm down for it all.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations! Can't wait to dive into some new binge-worthy content. Cheers!

Hey fellow K-drama enthusiasts! I recently binged Time Traveler's Love, and let me tell you, it blew my mind! The perfect blend of romance, fantasy, and mystery kept me hooked throughout. Now, I'm craving more of that adrenaline rush and heart-fluttering moments. So, I'm here to ask for recommendations on similar K-dramas that will leave me on the edge of my seat. I want something with a gripping storyline, mind-bending twists, and, of course, a touch of romance. Any suggestions? Help a fellow fan out! Thanks in advance, you awesome folks!

Hi! I’m looking for a spooky tv series on US Netflix. Not a terrifying horror, but more spooky, scary at times with a good plot.

Thanks in advance!!

In television, the characters that come to mind are Major Frank Burns and Major Charles Winchester on MASH, Boss Hogg on Dukes of Hazzard, The millionaire character on Gilligan's Island. Frasier has some of what I am looking for.

Movies are easier to find but suggestions are still welcome. The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas has the vibe I am looking for but also the child welfare worker in Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Pappy McDaniel in Oh Brother Where Art Thou.

Thanks for your help

Basically my parents would love half the stuff I recommend, but they can't focus to save their lives. Always playing word games, getting up and down to go to the kitchen, randomly talking about other stuff. They like series that they don't have to pay attention to, that are more real-life, not too boring. Movies or series recommendations welcome. No sci-fi or fantasy, no extreme violence in the beginning.

  • Favourites they just mentioned (Netflix et al):

Bosche

Longmire

Grey's Anatomy

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman

Doc Martin

Firefly Lane

Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul (these are definitely outliers - but they liked them enough to pay attention to it amazingly)

White Lotus (same as breaking bad - they couldn't look away so they loved it)

Grace & Frankie

The Guardian

New Amsterdam

At Home in Medford

Schitt's Creek

Heartland

  • My recommendations that didn't work out:

Lupin

The Crown

The Good Place

Jane the Virgin

Emily in Paris

Essentially, everything ever that I know they'll like, recommend, and then they give up before the first episode is done. Now I know what it was like to raise me as a child lol.

Could we all collectively cancel our Netflix subscription on say October 20th in order to lift the ban on sharing accounts? 😂 As for me traveling for months at a time for my job I am unable to use the family Netflix account and think this is absurd!
