Could be games with a bunch of little references, or a game that simply gave a really fun to play with reward.

I feel like a top contender atleast has to be The Talos Principle. The hub worlds were full of them, and even inside individual puzzle rooms. You really felt like you were being rewarded for exploring.

“You have this strong core single-player experience, and then you carefully layer on live-services elements around this core, and then you expand in… these concentric circles from there and create a single-player-as-a-service that can be a very, very good business and very durable,” says Daugaard. “We think that is a more organic approach than launching a super expensive, mega live-services game and hope that people will show up.”

Despite obvious potential to ridiculously awesome,

But recently released Gundam Breaker 4 or SD Gundam Battle Alliance are not good games.

Honestly don't see the point.

I preferred the first one. An unpopular opinion, I know. It was cool and all, but I liked Uncharted 1's setting, characters and story more. And Sully isn't even in most of Uncharted 2! It sucks, because I love the banter between him and Nate. Anyway, I just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.

So, I tend to work from home. And people have suggested just to play something idle, However.

I want to try the genre of City building.

Its something where I can sometimes just let it do its own thing. and I'm not sure where to start or what to try or anything regarding this genre, so I seek any kinda of suggestion or advice.

I haven’t bought a game ever since the diabolical fuck up of Diablo 4. The scammery left that bad of a taste in my mouth that my last purchase on a full game was June 2023.

Since then, I’ve just been floating around GTA5, RDR2 and WoW, all of which I’m already exhausted of to the point after a decade of playing on/off where I just feel like I’m missing that fresh feel of comfort / immersion, but winter is coming and I’d appreciate your perspective on your go-to games.

It’s too easy to enjoy a game at release and quickly declare it to be one of the greatest of all time, but as many of us have experienced, not all games that are great initially stay great forever. As time passes, the gameplay can grow stale, the story can become less enjoyable, updates (if applicable) can ruin more than they fix, etc.

This doesn’t even include the longer-term effects that can change a game’s place in history. For instance, does the look and feel age well? Does it inspire others to model themselves after the game? Does it create or perfect something that continues to set the standard years (perhaps decades) later?

Personally, I would never consider a game to be in the discussion of “all-time great” until at least five years have passed since its release. I need to see how it holds up to the test of time significantly first.

How does everyone else feel?

Pretty much the title. It feels impossible to search online for “co-op” games because they either talk about GTAO or RDO, despite neither being co-op, or It Takes Two.

Any suggestions help. I’ve played the Far Cry games with friends and stuff like Dying Light but it’s extremely hard to find any other co-op games since the PlayStation store has absolutely no filter for it and every where else will tell you the same 3 games.

I am trying to find some games with great racing/vehicle-themed high-speed combat. The best one I remember was back on the old Playstation 2 - Jak X Combat Racing.

Any recommendations on PC?

Customizability is the key if anyone has a suggestion. I am not particularly picky about the gameplay style, honestly FTL: Faster Than Light would work perfectly if it had a custom fight mode (I have searched mods and found nothing).

EDIT: On PC

Does anyone know of beginner friendly souls games? And I mean, hold my hand and pat my head levels of beginner. I absolutely adore the aesthetics in souls games, I would love to play them, but I'm in a place in my life where I can't focus on difficult games and I have no fun in conquering my frustration to beat the game into submission.

Is there a starting point, a game that has a low difficulty curve so I can take my sweet time building skills until I'm ready for big boy games?

My first experience was going in blind in Dark Souls 1, getting repeatedly destroyed by the first encounters, going NOPE!, and uninstalling (I was completely unaware the struggle was the entire point). I'm used to hack and slash, button mash, fast paced, low consequences for getting hit kind of games.

I'm stubborn and keep trying soulslike games in the hopes that one of them will be easier. So far I tried and failed to have fun with: Blasphemous, Death's Gambit, Grime, Moonscars. They're all 2D cause I can't pull the trigger on Elden Ring or Ghost of Tsushima, feels like a lot of money to spend on something I'm never going to play.

Edit: all of you are amazing, RIP my steam wishlist, but excited to give souls games another go!

I am 41 years old and have been playing shooters for 20 years. How much advantage would that provide in a gunfight or warzone?

Just a few more off the top of my head:

Gunfights - positioning, flanking, etc.

War Strategy - commanding an army.

Driving - Understanding things like oversteering or when to brake.

In light of the recent top 5 protagonists post. What’s everyone’s top 5 levels of all time?

I’ll start with mine:

  1. All Ghillied up (cod MW)
  2. The Silent Cartographer (Halo 1)
  3. The Village (Resi 4 original)
  4. The Flood (Halo 1)
  5. Breaking into Mother Base (Metal Gear 1)

I feel like I could instantly tell the difference between an SNES and Genesis game at a glance. What is it about Genesis games?

I love to revisit some old games; for 10 minutes.

Then realise it's ass as fuck.

But I love them still; I just could never play them now.

Phantasy Star Online ep - 1&2 for Gamecube

FAVE game of my childhood, spent hundreds if not thousands on it; Even on the Dreamcast version without ep 2 I played tons; just to do it all again on GC.

But now?

A grind and RNG loot fest?

I literally press the same attack buttons in the same way against the same monsters x 50000 ? going through the same maps? that're not very.. unique each time through?

I'm like; wow, I don't want to do this forever, just to go to a bigger harder mode where all that changes are the number gets bigger for the enemy health and I might get a nice rare drop. ( Yes ultimate changes models/some mechanics but still; its the same maps and spawns )

Looking at it through my eyes now, I actually hate the game now lol.
