I have an old ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 laying around getting some dust, and have no idea what interesting things could be done with/to it. Well, its display is broken and it's impossible to use it conventionally due to ghost touch, but a fix for this is to mirror its screen onto my computer using scrcpy.

I searched the web to find some ideas on which uses I could give to it, but none sounded good. I was thinking about turning it into a self-hosted file storage or something of the like. Is it possible to do so on with a phone? I'd love to hear from you guys about this or any other suggestion you have!

I have been diving into these anonymous boards and stuff. I wanted to know if anyone use it for any actual purposes like for getting some tech knowledge or something?

The "appearance" button seen on Dutch wikipedia is able to change the SIZE of the font (text) and the width of the article. This is extremely nice to have, but it's not there on any English article...

For context, I heard the term "Web 3.0" be used for the first time for everything being put on the blockchain. Then, it reminded me of a post on Mastodon saying that the fediverse is Web 3.0. After that I looked it up on the internet, and the definition included A.I. with crypto.

So I'm wondering, what is actually Web 3.0? What does it mean to you? Or maybe is Web 3.0 just another attempt at making investors pay up?

Since he can still run for office and become president while in prison, is this actually going to do anything to stop him from being president? Obviously it's not gonna sway anyone who's gonna vote for him, so is there any actual way this keeps him from office, or at least has some positive effect for us? I wanna join the celebration about this, but I don't see any way it actually leads to a good outcome, just more deeply convince those for or against him that they're right, maybe at best a few people on the fence about voting for Biden will be convinced by this. It just feels like theatrics, something to grab people's attention that will never have any real effect on Trump or his campaign

I'm sick of my laptop breaking after just three years. I want a laptop that:

• comes with a nice APU
• does not have a dGPU
• comes with a chonky thermal solution
• has lots of battery juice
• has lots of modern ports
• is repairable
• is rugged, bulky and thick
• is equipped with a nice, thonky keyboard
• isn't one of those stupid, low-quality "gAmIng lApTOp"

So far, only the X220 and MNT Reform comes close to this description - the former is a really slow machine for today's time, and for some reason, still damn expensive. The latter is just too expensive to the point that I'll have to sell all eight kidneys in my family.

Do they sell anything like this in today's time, with a reasonable price?

PS. Thick is a strong requirement. I want a really nice cooling solution, plus it also serves it's purpose as a melee weapon to removed-slap those ultra-book trash-talkers.

I’m not American and also not a lawyer. Do the types of charges trump was found guilty of have any jail time associated with them. Normally there is a min- max.

I make the specification of non-linux because otherwise this would just become a thread full of obscure distros that do the same thing as a million other distros.

Some lesser known OSs:

• AROS - based on Amiga OS, has some derivatives like IcarOS and MorphOS
• Haiku - based on BeOS
• Redox - Unix-like, made in Rust (might technically count as linux?)
• Serenity - Unix-like, very late 90s look and feel
• Kolibri - Tiny OS, the image is ~44MB. It also has a smaller version that fits in a single floppy.
• PhantomOS - When 3 Russians decide to turn everything about a typical OS upside down.

I normally just do a big text document, but I'm starting to think thats not the best method for me. It can be overwhelming to keep nice and linear over time.

Some context: It's a Latin dance party. Meaning you dance with a partner. I do not have a very much experience with it (about 16 lessons, with half of them being repeats). I go there with some people I know, but am not all too well acquainted with.

Which side of the bed is the left side? Is the answer based on the perspective of laying in the bed (person's head at the head end)? Is the answer based on viewing it from the foot of the bed, looking at the head of the bed? Is there an "anatomical position" or special terminology like in boating for this?

For context: My boyfriend and I can't agree on this. We change who gets which side based on the shoulder we'd predominantly sleep on and how it's feeling. This let's us get good cuddles before shoulder pain gets irritated. He comes to bed after me. A while back he asked what side I'm sleeping on. I said "left". Later that night, he comes in and almost lays directly on me because he claims "left" is the other side. Since then we have to describe which side using complicated descriptions.
