@[email protected] The main criticism seems to be that it's a decade behind change, as search results already seem confused about #Minecraft and #Minetest, and #Luanti will have to fight a big fight to keep the link going anyway (I agree that it was one of the appealing qualities in marketing MT). I opine that it will take quite some time until voxel gamers pick this up: such is my hope with video creators, writers and gamedevs.
It's only a name change, barely anybody would now say: "Haha, bye Minecraft, you were never a part of Luanti's legacy." - because it's factually wrong, and gamers will keep mentioning how Minecraft-esque the game ended up being. But, at the same time, there is now a stark contrast to Mineclonia and all that jazz...
