... and he urged the Prime Minister to empower his negotiators to conclude a deal without delay to bring the hostages home.

And of course it always loops back and centers on the safety of israeli hostages. The only people in all of Palestine who deserve to return home.

Not even a whisper about the over 7000 Palestinians "prisoners" ( us-foreign-policy ) who were kidnapped from the West Bank after October 7th

Had trouble sleeping last night because I couldn't stop myself from wondering if I (or the lovely people on hexbear) would get targeted for attending protests and posting when/if Western governments adopt this tech for their fascist means

Biden 'outraged' by Israeli strike that killed aid workers in Gaza

"This conflict has been one of the worst in recent memory in terms of how many aid workers have been killed," Biden said in a statement. "This is a major reason why distributing humanitarian aid in Gaza has been so difficult — because Israel has not done enough to protect aid workers trying to deliver desperately needed help to civilians.

Biden knowingly provided unconditional military and political support for the Nazis in israel as they spent almost 6 months slaughtering innocent Palestinians (which the WH administration expressed concern about as soon as October 11th), killing record numbers of journalists and aid workers in the process, and now he feigns '"outrage" on day 180, days after he rushed to send the Nazis billions more in bombs and jets. guts-rage

Here is a pdf of the paper mentioned in OP.

Jason Hickel, one of the authors of that paper, also wrote a good one about unequal exchange, showing that poverty in the Global South is pretty much created and maintained by Global North countries who drain land, labour, and goods from the South to feed their greed and overconsumption. This unequal exchange (or 'drain') amounts to about 30x what Global South countries receive in aid, and it is enough to eliminate extreme poverty dozens of times over. nerd

Love that a sizeable part of Jason Hickel's career is just publishing empirical works that debunk neoliberal and Western propaganda. o7

Watched “Children of Men” last night and I’m in awe that the fascist militia policing the concentration camps in dystopic Britain showed more of a conscience than IOF in Gaza

I tried reading Society of Spectacle a few weeks ago before bed one night. It was wayyyyy too hard to understand at the time, lol. I think I saw someone recommend it when I was reading about the Situationist International movement.. I find them, sous les pavés la plage, and all that really interesting

They talk about Biden "admonishing" Netanyahu, but it was always just Biden getting sassy with Netanyahu on the phone, and then immediately sending him billions of dollars worth of weapons after they hang up. Like Biden hasn't been instrumental in manufacturing Western consent and support for the genocide of Palestinians for the last 6 months peppino-angry

f you try to play the market you might as well just go to the roulette wheel

i went to a casino one time when i was 18, immediately lost $20 on slots, and have never set foot in a casino ever again normal

yeah, i feel like slow and steady is really the best play. obvs stories of cashing out big give me a crumb of dopamine, but i don't have the material or emotional means, nor the market knowledge (if that's a thing) to be gambling my money like that
