Is there such a thing as too many Screech Owls?? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Hope things get better, and in the meantime, please have a virtual hug from an internet stranger! ๐Ÿค—

This is amaaaazzzing! Thank you so much for all the research, clear summaries, and links. I had no idea that owls' feet were so specialized and different from other birds. I've learned a lot! Going to bookmark this keep rereading to absorb all the things.

While it's true that the person who 'owns' the number will get points from whatever you buy, this is still very useful in those stores (increasingly many, anecdotally) where the price is a lot lower at checkout when you have a card or associated phone number. 'Discounts', I.e. un-jacked up prices, only available when you sell your data.

Thank you for adding the summary and sources!

I like this daring approach to getting more plants! Also had to look up 'zombie leaves' and apparently they are sold as plants by themselves. From an ag extension school in NC::

Some, but not all, plants can be propagated from just a leaf or a section of a leaf. Leaf cuttings of most plants will not generate a new plant; they usually produce only a few roots or just decay. Because leaf cuttings do not include an axillary bud, they can be used only for plants that are capable of forming adventitious buds.

Fiddle, are you capable??

This is a glorious, nerdy, delightful explosion of memeness! (thanks for sharing, your user name is quite apt ๐Ÿ˜‚)

If you have the space, a ficus is a pretty classic houseplant with different contours than the plants you have already.

lovely! There is a somewhat lonely orchid community at lemmy.ml (c/orchids). I don't know how to link/crosspost, but if you do, they might appreciate this :)

I would offer a different perspective, though it could be that I'm misreading your intention in the last sentence. Scientific findings should all be available to the public, which is the ultimate source of most research funding through taxation or through product pricing. Misunderstanding should be addressed through education, not restricting access to knowledge.

Actually, yes, you have solved this, thank you! It was my language setting, and I had somehow selected everything EXCEPT English ๐Ÿ˜…. Houseplants must be mostly in English while the rest of Mander may be undetermined? Many thanks to you and @tauzero for looking into this :)

Houseplants is (I think) the only Mander community where I can't see posts on Jerboa (or rather can only see 4 posts) though web app works fine, showing pages of posts. Just curious as to why that might be, maybe language setup? Maybe just an idiosyncracy of Jerboa?

One more voice in agreement, and thank you for the considered argument. I value your good faith approach, and also resting the benefit of the doubt on the best available evidence, which in the case of FB is pretty damning, imo.

I wonder how (not) far the coffee industry might have gone without caffeine to kick it off in the first place. Ah, the circle of ~~life~~ ~~coffee~ ~ caffeine
