Both were massive empires. Makes sense that imperialism would put selective pressure on language. Historically you're either limited in words by space on a paper or what can be easily repeated by messengers.

178cm is pretty average is it not? Though the seats need to accommodate women as well. So your average is closer to 170. Still, the seat is comfortable for my back, the had rest just push my head forward uncomfortably far resulting in neck soreness even with good posture. Maybe i have a long head? Idk, guess im a xenomorph.

Turning it around is and feels dangerous, but extremely comfortable. Wish i could tilt the head rest just a bit. Maybe I'll just permanently bend it. Feels like if i got rear ended there would be a lot of pressure on the base of my neck.

'08 impreza but it was the same with the rav4. It's consistent with most cars unless they're very old or way too fancy for my wallet/tastes.

It can depend on the person so it's a general concept. I think if someone is asking for a critique they would ask more directly. Culture also plays a big role. I'm speaking from a USA cultural viewpoint.

Bah, screw that! People like making others feel good. It makes you feel good to know another person is pleased. So what if you fish for that sort of engagement unless you're being an incessant little dictator?

Mine forces bad posture. Sitting with an erect spine means my head is tilted steeply forward.

I have to lean the seat back until I'm not resting my back against the seat so there's less pressure in my neck. That means I'm not able to rest my upper back at all.

What i wouldn't give for 1cm of adjustment.

Ok. I'm still going to omit it in the future.

Some people like it, which I'm happy for, they're the ones who should have children. But it's not for everyone and it shouldn't be stigmatized. I will happily pay taxes to fund kinder care and school. I see the value in society for kids. Just not in my own home.

Lol took me until my 30's. This is the problem with modern masculinity, we are not taught about social norms. So those of us who have trouble with them struggle. In any case, I hope you and your wife are better for the realization!

Ehh for some it's natural to understand, for some it's learned, for some it's off the radar completely.

Asking for compliments is fine but people are insecure so they do it indirectly.

"How do you like this dress/these pants/this whatever" would be someone giving an opportunity to compliment them. But they would be uncomfortable with asking, "can you compliment this ..."

You're right that it's not communication. It's super taxing for me as i'm in the learned group edging on off the radar(i naturally interpret teasing as bullying). So i just try to compliment people regularly at least once every time i spend time with them to make up for it. More on dates and in relationships.

I am building a new PC. I want to run Linux and windows on separate SATA 2.5/3.5 SSD hard drives. I need windows (Winn11 Pro) for work. Linux will run all personal computing needs.

I have a horrible history with dual booting Linux and windows (grub getting murdered).

I currently plan to shut down the PC, switch power to the drives, and start up on the other OS.

Can i use a switch which only toggles power to each drive while keeping data cables attached to accomplish this? Will this be possible with windows on one drive?

Is there a smarter solution?

Thanks!
