Its the center-right that Biden is aiming for and has been the whole time. He's always been that way, his cabinet better represents the constituency than he does. Its a big part of why he was the VP for Obama, to appease old white guys.

The people on the right for whom Trump is too extreme or distasteful are the voters they are hoping to pick up , the people they lose by going too right are not going to vote for the republican anyways. Question is if its a good calculation or not.

1.1 billion / 14200 = $77,464 per person

In a ruling Tuesday, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Katherine Cooper concluded Horne lacked the statutory authority and legal standing to file the lawsuit and that he failed to state legal claims against Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs, Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes and 10 school districts.

Despite its name, PragerU is not a university but is instead a nonprofit media organization that “offers a free alternative to the dominant left-wing ideology in culture, media, and education,” according to its website. The videos, which it describes as “edutainment,” feature content from prominent right-wing activists like Candace Owens, Ben Shapiro and Charlie Kirk.

A report from NBC News said some of PragerU’s children’s content includes a video of an animated Frederick Douglass praising the Founding Fathers for not outlawing slavery. Other videos downplay climate change and ridicule the Black Lives Matter movement.

I'm personally not coming here for anything other than local information.

I get your point but it's what the Biden admin has been doing to try and court Republicans without offending their base too much .

"Home Depot's 93-year-old cofounder who said 'nobody works' anymore because of 'socialism' has donated $64 million to elect Trump and the Republican party over the years"

"'Just give it to me. Send me money. I don't want to work — I'm too lazy, I'm too fat, I'm too stupid,'" he said, adding that he thinks if he founded Home Depot today it may not have been as successful.

I use the Local filter and its pretty much just local news, that works for me but if people are making posts locally they are getting crowded out. If there was a way to give precedence to user posts that would be welcome . I could see the amount of automatic content that is ideal could change as the number of users posting and engaging changes.

I like what you're trying to do, would offer to help but am quite busy myself.

For what its worth, I think running ads for local businesses is reasonable.

I want to eventually become solvent enough to pay moderators a living wage for what they do.

Generating revenue from tucson.social or external means? Do you have a plan for that at this point?

I'm not aware of any others, do you mean the local communities on tucson.social or are there other Tucson specific lemmy instances?

This is my second year in Tucson, I made it through last summer mostly unscathed but I don't know if it was an easy summer compared to what's typical.
