A good place to start would be to use your computer's resource monitor to see where it is bottlenecking while you play. If you can connect a second monitor or tv to your computer you can have it on that screen while you play and see what is tanking.

Thank you for the fantastic idea. I didn't even think of that, gonna use this trick on a few spare keyboards I have. Wasn't willing to fork out the money for those little plastic tabs and trying to 3D model them didn't feel worth it.
Or even just the navigation buttons being separate from the screen.
