Lightning was amazing when it came out, and helped to push USB-C. Still, its time has come. I’m anxious to ditch lightning and then only need usb-C for iphone, iPad, and laptop. Then I can use Apple Watch charger to charge watch and AirPods Pro 2. With some mag safe chargers around the house, I’ll be set.

This totally makes sense. I get it now. So I will just make sure to subscribe here, and start posting from here.

I finally counted how many communities show up on one page. it is 50. So I only see 54 communities in total when I look at "All" communities from this instance. On lemmy.world there are more than 500 communites that show up in "All" for me (i got tired of clicking after 10 pages)

The list of communities on the first page on lemmy.world and centennialstate.social are pretty similar. Just for a point of reference, I went to the 5th page on lemmy.world and chose a random community: https://lemmy.world/c/[email protected]

That community is not showing up for me on this instance.

another random one: https://lemmy.world/c/humor does not show up in the list of communities for All on this instance.

@[email protected] Thank you!

Thank you! Also, hearing about the crazy stuff on lemmy.world I missed today on a 39 mile (Bosch pedal assisted) bike ride with the kids show how everyone needs more than one instance. Thanks for keeping this alive in this time of trying to figure it out.

Memmy app is good (centennialstate.social)

I’m still getting used to it, but it already seems better than mlem. It already supports iPad and swipe to upvote/reply as well as multiple accounts.

I know mlem is out of beta invites, but this one is better and I think is just one dev.

This instance will need a little more traction to be useful. I’m thinking it may be useful to collaborate on a welcome message to post on Reddit. I was thinking that the r/Colorado subreddit would be a good test as it is a much smaller community than r/Denver.

Part of my thinking is that we should advertise not as a replacement for Reddit, but an addition, and an insurance policy of sorts. Basically not to oversell it, but also not to attract everyone, just those who are curious. If we can get that up, and some of us here can add comments and some updoots, it should give some much needed visibility and that logical Colorado landing spot for those who just don't know what to do.

Is there an issue with different instances having the same community name? I read that it may be an issue, but it was not clear.

This is a neat site for tracking the fediverse and this instance.
