Anyone on IRC? What are some active and good networks and channels out there? (beehaw.org)

Title. What networks/channels stand out to anyone who’s been using IRC?

I first started using IRC in 2013, and from there met essentially all of my internet friends that I still have in some capacity on other platforms. In 2015/2016, though, Discord quickly took my frequented channels off of freenode, so I stopped going on as I used to.

Considering what happened to freenode in recent years, I’m left wondering where to find active channels (outside of libera). I’m down for music, fitness, news, and spirituality channels, to name a few, anything tech I can likely get to libera for.

Much better than before, I’d imagine. I haven’t used it for that long but I find it really smooth and nice to use, I haven’t had any issues, really.

If we want this to work out make content do not just lurk by quarterlotus in c/[email protected]

That, and please stop talking about reddit so much, dear god. My feed is filled with reddit news, rather than the respective topics of each community I'm subscribed to.

I can't see this actually being a big deal, like at all, lmao. This assumes everyone cares or even knows the implications of a contact poster, and you can even make them for contacts that haven't made one themselves. If you automatically think "ew Android!" when someone didn't make a contact poster (when they can literally be on iOS, but not make one), you have issues.
