I define tech bros as people who want to solve every single problem with an app. World hunger? I'm building an app for it, bro. Climate crisis? I'm building an app for it.

For instance, the number of COVID trackers built in 2020 was ridiculous. These websites/apps didn't really make any meaningful difference, but the people who built it speak about it like it did.

Also see: accelerationism.

Deal of the day: tech bros and finance bros fuck shit up for everybody. Take it or have it shoved down your throat.

I believe that the trick is not to show the developers the bill.

I haven't had access to the AWS bill in 4 of 5 companies that I've worked at. Why? Fuck if I knew, but I got vague answers like security and compliance when I asked.

I wonder how many thousands could have been saved if all devs could see what they're actually paying for but not using.

Not "great novels" but great "great world building". I've seen some absolute bangers out there where the concepts, characters and even the overall plot blew my mind away. However, the authors couldn't write decent dialogues or a coherent chapter of their life depended on it. So, most people wouldn't be exposed to their ideas.
