I'll take a look at it. Thanks!

Greetings! For the past few weeks, i have been using Apple Maps for navigation. Only to realise that it does not have some specific places i go to regularly. And offline maps are just broken. And since i'm here, what are the best FOSS Map apps that have offline navigation? (i did try osmand and maps.me, theyre both paid)

So as you may know, iOS 18.1 and watchOS 18.1 is out. And i decided to updste both my phone and watch simultaneously. (They were both plugged in) The phone finished first, but when the apple watch finished, it stopped charging, and instead discharging. (it was plugged in). Well after i clicked on the battery percentage on the watch face, it odly says that its at 100%, while the watchface says 98%. Anyone encountered this bug?

Nope, i never jailbroken or given my phone to anyone. I always start a screen recording whenever i pass my phone to someone.

It's the default one that ships with Xorg.

I do obviously know that avahi is bloat, but it's a dependency of PulseAudio, preventing me from removing it

Takes long to install software, slow, requires reboot after install. That's too much effort for me to handle.

Flatpak sucks in my opinion. What if i need to install something that is not on flatpak? The AUR exists too.

Nah. Regular arch is good. (except from systemd)

Also, isn't "Parabola" dead? Last release was in 2022.

I'm using Degoogled Chromium. Regular Chromium sucks.

Greetings! Recently, i have ditched Windows for Linux. Why? Well, This all started with a Windows Update. I was working on a Discord bot, until my PC decided to restart without my consent. What was it? A Windows Update. I was like: "no big deal, ill just wait". Well, it was over 100+ updates. After all the updates completed, i saw the Windows 11 setup screen. Keep in mind that I was on WIndows 10 before the updates. Now at that point i really got angry. Like, I hate Windows 11. So then i went and completed the setup, and got met with ALL THE BLOATWARE REINSTALLED. So ofcourse, since i did NOT wanna use Windows 11, i backed up my data, and switched to the Secure and Free operating System, Linux. I went with arch, since i have used Ubuntu before, and it's terrible. And since i didn't wanna use any fancy Desktop Enviroments, such as GNOME, KDE, HyprLand, XFCE. I went with dwm. It looks very mininal and customizable.

Now that brings me to the question, What apps should i get rid of?

I know i did the same post like a few weeks ago, but for the sake of Privacy, i know Some apps contain Telemetry, and some Don't. But still.

Now to explain this, i haven't installed an app in a while now. And recently, this showed up.

This really concerns me if i am being recorded or something. I know this isn't the right subreddit to ask, but what should i do?

Greetings! So recently, i spent a few hours coding software. After i was done and i shut off my pc, i noticed both of the ethernet lights were on and blinking. Does this mean that Microsoft is sending data to their servers before the PC fully shuts off? I am scared that this might be the thing it does. How can i get rid of this issue? I have no idea if it's related to Windows or the PC itself.

So as you may know, i am a guy mostly focused on privacy. Basically, insead of google i use SearXNG. (Privacy focused search engine) However, when i went to change the default search engine in safari, there was no option to add a custom search engine.

This really pissed me off. So how come Apple allows changing default browsers in the EU, but not search engines?

Greetings! I have recently ditched google and went with privacy focused alternatives. Such as SearXNG, Invidious, Lemmy etc.

However, while i was using degoogled chromium, i cant install extensions.

Is there any way i can install extensions on Degoogled Chromium? (ik this isnt the right place to ask but eh)

Thanks a lot!
