The idea that the US could even hope to “resolve key challenges” here is laughable. China is too far ahead in manufacturing and companies aren’t willing to spend the massive amounts of money required to expand manufacturing in the US.
To be fair, it’s a bad pun in /c/badposting. I was a little high last night and was inventing new slang terms that may or may not work. “Ponycule” was another (worse) one I came up with.
The panda sanctuary is amazing. I’d put that one at the top of the list. You’ll wanna show up early for it, and make sure you use the line for foreigners instead of wasting time in the normal line only to find out you’re in the wrong place.
After that, the museums in Chengdu are amazing and worth checking out. I can definitely recommend the Chengdu Museum and the Jinsha Site Museum, but there may be other cool ones like the Science and Technology Museum. I think you need WeChat to make an appointment most places so see if you can get a local to help you if you don’t have WeChat already.
Go to a hotpot place also. The food in Chengdu is phenomenal and you should definitely try as much as you can. I think Chuanxi Bazi was one of the places I went to that was especially awesome, but there are tons, including some that are exclusively vegetarian.
Also almost forgot the Anshun Bridge is really cool and there’s a really great nightlife street alongside it full of bars and clubs with lives bands and lots of other stuff going on.
It is technical and uses a lot of unfamiliar terminology, but I would think a background in natural sciences would lend itself well to his work considering it’s based around systems and how they interact, and often uses natural systems as a reference. This is also I think where the name “Brain of the Firm” comes from. From the “viable system model” Wikipedia page:
The model is derived from the architecture of the brain and nervous system. Systems 3-2-1 are identified with the ancient brain or autonomic nervous system. System 4 embodies cognition and conversation. System 5, the higher brain functions, include introspection and decision making.
So I think this is anti-Deng. I think the guy behind the mask represents ordinary Chinese workers. The face of the mask is dark because I think it’s intended to show Nixon eyeing China like it’s a new slave plantation for the US.
You should give the first season a watch. Been awhile since I’ve seen it but I remember it being a genuinely good show.
I totally remember Time Killers! As an edgy kid I thought the violence was awesome but in hindsight it wasn’t a very well made game. It did have a certain charm to it though compared to other fighters of that time.
That also reminds me of a game I remember called Pigskin where it was like vikings playing football and it was super violent.
Here are some I remember fondly:
- The Simpsons
- TMNT: Turtles in Time
- X-Men (6 player version)
- NBA Jam
- Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
- Splatterhouse
- Sengoku (very cool and underrated Neo Geo game)
- Samurai Showdown
That motorbike looks like some version of a Honda Z50:
