They skim read some utilitarianism, which is a limited school of thought (if it has any value at all), and jumped straight to "fuck yes! This is everything!"

People seldom go to the toilet in fiction, but especially not in utopian sci-fi. The rats, ironically, never factor in waste.

Has Yud done a really visible IDW-type thing yet? Pardon my ignorance if he hasn't, but he's ripe for a chat with Rogan, or a cosy armchair conflab with Peterson. He's heading into the right territory of self-contrived victim. And "Anyone who considers themselves remotely left-leaning ought not to fall for this shit!" should have Jimmy Dore salivating.

Can anyone tell me what the blue square in his username represents? If it does anything at all?

I'd never heard of Yudkowsky until a few months ago, until my brother ruined a dinner with doomerism dressed up as credible science, and I had to dig deep to discover the insidious bullshit. Big thanks to Timnit Gebru and Emile Torres on that front.

This is a slightly emotional response off the back of a discussion with a heavily TESCREAList family member recently. Which concluded with his belief there are a very small number of humans with incredible information processing abilities that know the real truth about humanity's future. He knows I hate Yudkowsky, I know he considers him one of the most important voices of our time. It's not fun listening to someone I love and value heading into borderline scientology territory. I kind of feel like, just with Peterson a few years ago, this is the next post-truth battle on our hands.

Singularity Sky would be ace on the big screen.... it would, until some rich Muskverse dude went and ruined it.

Noob here. Finding the aesthetics of LW interesting. White, serif fonts... purity, beautiful rational authority.
