But transgenders and pronouns were never ever a thing in the Dragon Age franchise, and now they suddenly feature these so prominently.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krem_(Dragon_Age)

Every Dragon Age game has had pronouns because that's how fucking language works. Your brain has just been poisoned by right-wing outrage over "pronouns".

Also, "transgenders" isn't a word. "Transgender" is an adjective, not a noun, not that I expect that to mean anything to someone who freaks out about "pronouns".

I haven't insulted any content made by any actual human beings. Midjourney's not going to cry because I called its output trash.

The other factor was Wuk Lamat. She’s a very complex character, and she even has a bit of a complex about herself. Unfortunately, we didn’t delve very far into the background of why she had those feelings, so it appeared as if she left a negative impression. We accept that feedback. I feel a little sorry that we weren’t able to properly depict her.

This is so absurd because Wuk Lamat is on-screen more than any other character except maybe the Warrior of Light. "Weren't able to properly depict her"... Maybe if they'd done anything other than having her repeat how much she loves peace and happiness every ten minutes? What happened to the fear she showed when fighting that giant colibri in 6.55? Why is she suddenly sea-sick all the time when that wasn't a thing when she got off the boat in Sharlayan?

One additional thing, there were comments about how we are too accepting of diversity — some people seem to be disapproving of that. I’m afraid one of our staff members received very negative comments and it almost felt like a personal attack, which breaks my heart, because she worked really hard and these criticisms were not constructive at all. [Editor’s note: Yoshida is referring to the transphobic verbal abuse and death threats that Wuk Lamat’s voice actress, who is a trans woman, has reportedly received from some FFXIV users.] It doesn’t do anything except make the staff lose motivation, and in the end that could potentially damage the quality of our game and take away from what makes this game so interesting. So if there are any sort of criticisms, bring it to me, because I’m the one approving this material. I wanted to reiterate that, please refrain from personal attacks against our staff.

I'm glad to hear they're not taking the anti-wOkE brigade seriously. But fuck everyone who decided to gang up on a voice actor, even if they don't like the character. (This started before Dawntrail ever launched so there's no way any of it had anything to do with Wuk Lamat's portrayal in 7.0, and even if it did, that doesn't excuse the transphobic BS Sena Bryer has been getting.)

This sounds like a plausible thing that actually happened.

If the only thing you want to post is AI slop, we're all better off if you don't.

How would banning AI-generated content prevent you, a human being, from posting anything here?

How so? Are you unable to actually write anything by yourself?

Is this what the kids these days mean by "gooner brain"? You see a pair of boobs and the rest of your brain just shuts down completely?

I would have asked this on a math community but I couldn't find an active one.

In a spherical geometry, great circles are "straight lines". As such, a triangle can have two or even three right angles to it.

But what if you go the long way around the back of the sphere? Is that still a triangle?

(Edit:) I guess it's a triangle! Fair enough; I can't think of what else you would call it. Thanks, everyone.

Have you ever heard someone describe their cat as "magical"? They weren't being hyperbolic.

You see, cats are obligate carnivores. This is a kind of animal whose metabolism runs on magic. Their digestive systems use clairvoyance to determine whether the meal they're eating came from another animal. Nutrients have nothing to do with it -- if you try to feed them lab-synthesized taurine, the ancient curse laid upon their kind by the Egyptian sorcerers who bound them all those millennia ago will lay waste to all mankind.

Bet you feel stupid now, huh? Checkmate, vegoons.
