At least Romney took the hint. But as much as I’d like to say good riddance, these days it seems like he’s one of the only rational republicans left in Congress.

Eh, kinda. The optical reds are apparently rated for 45g, as are my gateron reds on my Q1. I just remember the switches on the huntsman feeling super smooth. The silvers in my tester kit are pretty dang smooth with just a bit of resistance. Might go for some of those since the pinks feel just a bit too touchy and the crystal reds / choc pro reds feel pretty similar to the silvers.

Derp, now that you point that out, it's quite obvious. Thanks!

Do you know if there’s any diff between the pro reds and crystal reds aside from housing material and stem color? I have them side by side here and can’t really figure it out. Same with the pinks and blue robins.

I played around with a Huntsman Mini a bit in my local Micro Center and loved how smooth the linear optical reds felt. They had just the right amount of resistance too. The choc reds I'm using in my sofle right now feel too heavy and cumbersome to me at 50g. I want a switch that feels smoother and is slightly easier to depress. Got myself a switch tester from aliexpress but I'm still having a hard time deciding. The only two switches that I don't have in my tester are the Purpz and the Sunsets. Not really interested in tactile though and I'm pretty sure the Purpz would be too light for my liking.

On paper I'd think the silvers would be fairly close but in reality, it doesn't feel that much lighter than the reds, even though it's 10g lighter. Plus, I know the tester can only get me so far and that a whole board of switches is going to feel vastly different than a single switch. Thoughts, advice? Thanks!

Definitely curious about where these layouts sprung from and the ideology behind them. Any good articles you know of that I could read up on them?

How is it that this is being ignored by the media when the post is literally an NPR article about it?

Oh, I know. I keep hearing about Colemak and Mirokyu.

too late. I went from 100% to 75% to 60% to 75% to HHKB back to my 75% (mostly because I wanted to start using my Gat pro reds again) and now I’m using an Ortho Split with columnar stagger (a choc Sofle). What a wild journey it’s been.

I watched the whole thing. Two things really jumped out to me. That we definitively have photographic evidence and Grusches statement that not only have we retrieved UAP but we’ve also retrieved Non-Human Biologics. Holy hell is that wild. I’d really love to see a photo or two of what was mentioned yesterday. What Grusch meant by the biologics though, who even knows. Maybe (probably) it’s some sort of bacteria? Dunno though, will have to wait and see.

Would be looking for just the case alone, not a full kit.

Which is your preferred thumb key for space and return on the sofle? Default has return on the left and space on the right. I've been using it opposite for a bit with space on the left and was liking that but figured I'd try it out in the default config for a bit. Not sure which I like more / which one feels more comfortable. What's your preference? Do you use space on the left or the right side? Is there a reason for the enter/return key being on the left and space on the right by default?

Would be neat if double tapping on a zoomed in pic reset the zoom back to 0%. I’m super used to that from Apollo and haven’t gotten it out of my muscle memory yet.

Just got a choc Sofle and standard red choc switches along with it (50g weight). Compared to the gateron pro reds I have in my Keychron Q1 they don't feel quite as smooth and snappy. I'd describe them as feeling heavier and sludgy almost... any thoughts on other variants to try? Would choc silvers feel closer to my mx style gpro reds? Pinks seem like they'd be too light... I don't want switches that are too easy to mistakenly activate.

Considering moving from my H1 to a Fractal Terra and will need a new cooler. My GPU is a Radeon 6800xt so it’s only two slots and I’ll have room to maximize my cpu cooler. Which would you choose between the two?

Like my H1 for its footprint but am tired of its thermals. Don’t want the OG meshlicious or the Meshroom because of the shady crap SSUPD pulled with cheating the designer. Was waiting for the FF01 to come out but the Terra came out of nowhere and I’m seriously considering it. It’s a sweet little case and looks great to work in.

Anybody make the move into a Terra from an H1? If so, do you feel like it was a worthwhile switch despite the loss of desk real estate?

I usually do the Hoffmann method if I’m making it for myself and the default recipe if making for my wife and I but the last couple days I’ve mixed it up and tried out the inverted method:

Time: 1min 30sec

  • Use a medium-fine grind.
  • Put the plunger to the “bottom” (top while inverted) of the 3 so I’ll get a half cup’s worth of infusion
  • add my grounds, 2 AeroPress scoops (22-26oz depending on roast and moisture content)
  • get water to boiling (if a light roast)
  • add enough water to make a paste, do a 30 second bloom
  • add more water until it’s 2/3 full. Stir for 10 sec
  • add water until it’s almost to the top and wait until the timer gets up to 1:15. While waiting, wet the filter and get the top ready
  • give it another few stirs at 1:15 then top off until the water is at the top
  • at 1:30, cap and press. I like to do it into a Pyrex measuring cup.
  • this should yield 1/2 cup of brew (4oz). I then add water up to the 1 cup mark (8oz line) and put 1/2 into the first mug. I fill it up again until the 1 cup and pour that into the second. Add another 1/2 cup of hot water to the first mug and presto, you have two delicious 8oz mugs of coffee!

Any tips or tricks? I’m excited to ascend from my QK60 HHKB to a split columnar stagger! Got the default TRRS cable that comes with it from Keebmaker but would you recommend I get one that’s a bit longer? If so, any preferred custom trrs cable makers?

and even though I’m tired, things are all right!

Is there any way to still get the JSON file? Not seeing the settings tab anymore :(
