@flashlight for those asking why I'm not on the pictures, working with the others, I was going back and forth from the stage with equipment, because the stage and backstage are 1,10m above the floor, and van, with no elevator or stairs nearby :D

3000 K BraTS10 and 4500 K DD MT21C lighting up the inside of a van while loading up the theater set and equipment.
The van was otherwise not lit at all on the inside. @flashlight #flashlight #theater

@cobysev @GraniteM I have a french version from 1942 and modded it with a pretty low power, 2700~3000 K single LED drop-in, and more importantly a 18650 battery with integrated USB charging. I built a cheap 2D-18650 adapter by hollowing a piece of wood from the bottom and putting a flat-cut screw through the top to make contact. My grandpa use it and is happy with it. Way more runtime, bit more light, same temp.

@mp3 my little sister (21) just now: "I want that!"
Thanks, I now have an excuse to buy them :D
(And 519A-mod them before gifting them)

Hi! Do you know where to find floody TIR optics to put in my 519A modded MT21C? (~1 inch diameter) @flashlight #Flashlight

[-] [email protected] 4 points 10 months ago

@fujiwood Messy at the start! https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/171lkvk/first_messy_try_at_modding_wip/

Then, since I purchased the LED already soldered on a MCPCB, I desoldered the stock one, ground a bit the new one to fit, soldered the wires back on the new MCPCB and voilĂ . Changed the thermal paste too.

@flashlight The Nichia heats up faster than the Cree. (IR video on fedi link)

Today I swapped the awful and greenish factory Cree XP-L HD V6 6500K of a Nitecore MT21C for a Nichia 519A 4500K (MCPCB swap). I may try to install a floodier TIR optic. Click the fedi logo for more! #Flashlight @flashlight

Two vise clamps and lots of brute force, I finally disassembled the head of a MT21C, which is a great light with shitty emitter and beam. What emitter should I swap for ? 3.45mm square, 2.79 Vf typical, 3 amps. I like 4000 k and high CRI. @flashlight

3000k TS10 to the rescue! Nobody planned any lighting for the sculpture ( by @Syl) at the entrance of the festival. It is fixed for a few hours. @flashlight

@Krzak first of all this is an historical french city so the blocs and streets are very small and narrow compared to US cities. It is also a fairly small part of the city showing most of the tracks, and it is very walkable. Lots of things to do and people to see there, so busy heatmap.

@solrize I will, if I get to work with fog machines. Could be sooner than a good foggy night.

Comparing the 3D beam shapes (and not a side projection on a wall) of the 1 LED + SMO Nitecore MT21C vs the 3 LED + TIR optics of Wurkkos TS10s (4000 K and 3000 K). Using soapy water in a white tub. @flashlight #flashlight

@ouigol I work in live video for live events, I often need to look into dark backstage, dark technical cases and often work night time. I used to have a headlamp, then I bought a angleable magnetic flashlight to light up the back of trucks while load-in or load-out, or just general dark backstage. Working in video, I was not a fan of shitty light quality, so I progressively upgraded thanks to r/flashlight.
