Yeah we had something similar here for a while. "Head shops" were selling bath salts and spice and what not.

The government struggled to catch up because the next analogue was ready to go the second any ban came in.

Eventually they brought out what was essentially a "fuck this shit" piece of legislation. Was a good few years ago now. More than ten if memory serves. It all shut down overnight.

Things are way more regulated here though in general (Ireland). I can't even buy melatonin over the counter which honestly is both stupid and annoying.

Edit: We do still have the good sudafed though. One with two paracetamol is great for a hangover. :)

Thanks.

Crazy stuff.

The drug's true identity emerged after researchers figured out it's a type of opioid — one that does, in fact, work in a way that's similar to heroin

Aptly named at least. Honestly was not expecting actual opiates for sale with petrol.

What is gas station heroin if you wouldn't mind filling me in?

Same. Have mine about 18 months. Never once connected to the internet. Great device.

I think they organised other routes for logistics so it became less strategically important than it was earlier in the war.

Still though....I really want to see it gone. It's a nasty symbol.

It's definitely fine but I do like voyager. It has some nice features that are mobile oriented.

Are you in a very dark place? Might go hunting this evening as I didn't think it would be visible to the naked eye.

Do you mind me asking where you saw that? I've a heap of shorts in my watchlist but can never find any of them anywhere.

Very. US troops obviously have lots of experience fighting insurgency style and ridiculously good hardware, logistics etc. but Ukraine have very hard earned experience in near peer conflict with drones and so on.

Soldier for soldier, Ukraine probably has the best troops in the world right now for the kind of conflicts that are unfortunately looming.

I think this is a bug in Lemmy. Saw someone else mention it recently. I believe a fix is coming.

That's a lovely tune. Thanks.

Mine have built a decent number of very small scratches and they're getting annoying so I'd like to get rid if at all possible.

I've seen various things suggested including:

  • lens scratch repair kit (reviews don't look great on amazon)
  • baking soda paste
  • non-abrasive toothpaste
  • furniture polish (temporarily fills in the scratch from what I can tell)

I'm reluctant to try any of them without some first hand accounts. No lens coating on these so no worries there.

Thank you in advance!

edit: I just want to say thanks very much to everyone. I ended up getting my prescription emailed to me and buying a new pair for €17 (about $19 USD) delivered on a site that one helpful poster linked. Looks like they will take about 3 weeks to get here so I'll put up with the scratchy ones until they get here.

When they do arrive I will take some pictures and test the various methods I found online then post up what works and what wrecks the lenses.

The stories from this trip are wild. edit: It was a school trip.

The sale of disposable vapes is set to be banned under proposals going to Cabinet.

The Minister for Health is expected to get Government approval to draft these laws which will ban the sale, manufacture or import of single-use or disposable vapes in Ireland.

Stephen Donnelly plans to introduce this ban on environmental and public health grounds.

Absolutely fascinating stuff. The power of social engineering, charm and confidence by two very young kids is mind blowing. Some very funny bits in it too.

An Australian man is set to appear in court after being arrested for the alleged theft of more than A$600,000 (€359,880) worth of commemorative coins linked to the popular children's television show "Bluey", police said.

The 47-year-old is accused of stealing 63,000 unreleased, limited-edition A$1 coins from a secure warehouse in the Sydney suburb of Wetherill Park in June, according to "Strike Force Bandit", a special unit police set up to investigate the theft.

"Strike Force Bandit" is honestly an incredible name. For those not familiar with the show the father is called Bandit.

I do it too.

For those not in the know: England are facing Spain in the final of the Euro football championship.

This is a year old but I'd never come across it before.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported that "some of the fallen balloons carried what appears to be faeces judging from its dark colour and odour".
