@Pulptastic @lostwonder I don't know why people are holding on. If u/spez can do what he is doing now who says he won't do it again? Let's say he let's third-party apps back. It's a matter of time when he shuts it down, this time for good!
@MudSkipperKisser @MiddleWeigh Welcome. You only need one account. With one account you can talk and see post and everywhere. Best thing about having a local account is having your own frontage of all the communities you follow. Just like Reddit in it’s own way
@Confuzzeled I signed up when the blackout started on the 12th I think lots of us where just trying to find a new home and came to whatever was open lol I was on lemmy.ml realized it was crashing then came to lemmy.world and haven’t looked back
@phil299 You realize that the only way through this is to talk about it right? It’s like breaking up with someone you are with for years then they just f up and try to forgive them but it’s too late
@DaughterOfMars True that. I did my own research and now know what the fediverse is about and wish I didn’t jus blindly follow people. I could have joined an instance of what I liked. Oh well lesson learned. There needs to be a faq about the fediverse before people just come.
@DaughterOfMars That’s why you do your research and create an account on a successful instance so you don’t have that problem. I have a lemmy account and mastodon. I have lemmy because of the blackout but didn’t know what I was doing. I note know how to use lemmy and mastodon from the user side of things. Lemmy for my subs and general looking at the sub home page and communities. Mastodon to chitchat and everything else
@Zardoz Deleting my Reddit account after 6 years and learning about the fediverse for the first time. I’m never going back to Reddit
@RyzenxD Yeah, boost was amazing. I like following a child comment up to the root ask in one go.
