Downloading packages as an unprivileged user is a pretty neat update for people who want to do that.

Low power TV station takes advantage of the fact most TVs support H.264 and HEVC video codecs to broadcast 14 HD programs over the air.

Not true. If you define the circumference in terms of pi, you can define the circumference exactly.

Because it's a large language model that parrots human information. Not particularly surprising.

Wow you just won the internet for today. 🤓

Yeah but they don't run the servers anymore. So I don't know what I'm paying for really.

Knowing GM they will lobby to ban Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

I have to convince every one of my friends to switch because they all use SMS/iMessage. Outside of the US, you would have to convince every one of your friends to switch from WhatsApp.

It's kind of odd that they could just take random information from the internet without asking and are now treating it like a trade secret.

Probably because it is stupid simple to escape their ecosystem just by sideloading apps. They want to lock you down with their own OS.

As a driver for one of these apps it's more of a bid than a tip. People send me bids to deliver their food and I deliver to the highest bidder. It sucks because that's not what a tip is supposed to be and the majority of the delivery fee doesn't go to the driver. That's why I don't really order from these delivery apps myself anymore.

I strongly advise not to do that. As others pointed out, it really is just predicting the next word. It is worth learning about how to problem solve and to recognize that the only way to become a better program is with practice. It's better to get programming advice from real people online and read the documentations for the functions and languages you are trying to use.

I don't know about you, but I get annoyed that I still can't use NFC at checkout. It's 2023, tap to pay has been around in the US since 2016 and much longer in Europe.

The FTC would like to have a word. At least they have a spine.
