Maybe the best compliment I can pay to /r/freebsd participants: the community is almost entirely self-moderating, which makes formal moderation a breeze. It's a walk in the park.

Reddit does have its standard rules and redditquette, but /r/freebsd literally has no rules — https://www.reddit.com/r/freebsd/about/rules/ — and I never felt the need to make a set …

I do positively enjoy nearly everything that I read in the unixsheikh area. The "Don't use Reddit …" post was disagreeable, but didn't lessen my respect for him. I shared his post in /r/BSD, but never did him the courtesy of responding via email. Now might be the time.
