Ha, thanks.
Maybe you already know, but your 'Mark Hamill' post has been subbed to [email protected], btw.
Things are finally taking off for me in this Community - I've made something, and I've got some feedback: "okay"
"That's high praise!", as Nic Cage would say.
I've no idea why, but I just spent too long immersing myself in RoundSparrow drama: all his comments on GitHub are now marked as Abuse, and the account at lemmy.ml is now banned (I realise it's not his only one).
I can, in some ways, relate to the feeling of being gaslighted when submitting a PR to someone else's GitHub project. Either being told that the issue isn't actually an issue, or - more commonly in my experience - being told that the fix has already been implemented on some private branch by a main developer (which then never sees the light of day).
For the studios, eager for Box Office profits, I would've thought all films were equally important.
The Creator doesn't have actors with the same promotional clout as Timothée Chalamet or Zendaya, but - as things stand - it's still likely to end up without having received any promotion at all from its writers or its cast.
Maybe it's just that Disney are more worried about been seen to be reacting to the strikes than Warners Bros. are.
Assumed this would be straight on Prime with it being Amazon Studios, but it's getting a cinema release first (on October 6th)
You idiots! These are not them! You’ve captured their stunt doubles!
Interesting that it's not getting its release delayed like Dune Part 2 (both films share a cinematographer, so if Dune had always been planned for March, then they could have used Greg Frasier more on The Creator, ironically enough).
I prefer this poster to the IMAX version:
I have Feelings about certain instances (too unreliable, too much interference, too little / too much moderation on certain specialised instances) so that helps me choose. It's not something you necessarily get right first try.
If that's their plan, it was a very long plan in the making. Admirable, in a way.
I'd be as interested as anyone in seeing the secret Hexbear communities where they conspire, or perhaps leaked screenshots from whatever chat app they find ethically acceptable. Until then, I'm more likely to believe in the "Brigade Effect" rather than actual Brigades.
The clothes issue felt like a bit of a fudge though. It's not like she was wearing a ball gown (maybe they're saving that for a future doctor)
