Just saw this today. It certainly has its moments, but it felt a bit muddled and oddly repetitive to me overall. It's a shame, because I'd been looking forward to it, and was hoping it'd be good. I may grow to like it more on rewatches, but the 7/10 ratings feel about right.

I sense there's a better 90 minute fan edit in there somewhere.

The guy on the left is actually Gareth Edwards (unlike many directors, he defaults to holding the camera himself)

Bonus Greig shot:

Hi. That's from Rogue One (2016).

Oh ok. I think Wookieepedia disagrees, maybe:

Amidala gave R2-D2 to [Anakin] Skywalker when he became a Jedi Knight, and the astromech droid faithfully served him throughout the war, often flying in the droid socket of Skywalker's starfighter or fighting next to him on the front lines.

This kind of persistence, of always getting back up after you've repeatedly hit yourself in the face, exemplifies how the battle of Endor was won.

Huh. Didn't know that about R2 - that little droid has been literally everywhere.

Yeah, I'm normally happy to wait for the VOD, but I'll go out and see this, if only to show my support for the type of film it is. Even if this particular film isn't 100% successful, it'll hopefully pave some sort of way for the future mid-budget, new-IP films I'll always be interested in.

Last time I was operating fork lifts, they all had little touch-screens on them, and you had to fill out a whole questionnaire before they'd even start. If you dinged 'em too hard, they'd stop again, and you'd have to go get a manager to restart them. Which is great for logs, but I found it kinda tedious at the time.

Once again the rich elite (who can afford D+) are ruining things for the lesser folk (who have to wait for their downloads to finish)

Just tried. Saved without crashing. It completely logged me out this morning though, so maybe something's going on

I don't think catbox.moe has the bandwidth lately.

It works, but it plays slowly (It took 90 seconds to download all 17.5 MB directly, which is longer than the gif lasts).

I've been playing around with animated WEBP files. These are much more efficient than gifs (the linked WEBP is about 330KB), but am having a hard time making them work for Lemmy.

Option 1: upload them directly to Lemmy, they get auto-recompressed and then often look like garbage
Option 2: direct-link to external host, Lemmy copies it in and auto-recompresses it with the same effect
Option 3: URL-link to an external host, which then people are reluctant to click
Option 4: Include as an inline link in the body of a post, then it looks like a text post, and support for it is variable among web clients and mobile apps
