Elfhosted has a status page: https://status.elfhosted.com/ that includes the non elfhosted Torrentio.

According to the Torrentio dev their VPS has been blocked so they have to find new hosting: https://github.com/TheBeastLT/torrentio-scraper/issues/288

I've got an easynews usenet subscription I'm using as a backup.

Ah yeah that's always the risk importing something that doesn't officially ship or sell here. I'm guessing it's to do with providing support and warranties with areas that it's not officially sold?

Hope you find a solution, otherwise take a holiday to the US 😂

Pretty happy with our choice to move here 6+ years ago. For all the shit it gets, Hamilton is a pretty nice place to live. I think it's only going to get busier in the coming years, especially once projects like the Ruakura Super Hub gets completed.

Wise has been very handy for me, being able to add different currencies and pay for things overseas. You're right though, they may already know the freight forwarder addresses. Do they not have an international store? It'd be really annoying buying an upgradable laptop and not being able to get any of the upgrades!

Can you use a Wise or Revolut virtual card and pay in US currency?

Most brass instruments aren't cheap! It's why my parents were smart enough to rent the saxophone when I was in high school because they knew I wouldn't stick with it 😅I think trumpets are also really loud when learning to play, RIP your neighbours ears 😂

That looks like it's coming from Amazon UK according to the "Sold by" and "Ships from" section, so may take longer.

The two top review from Aus aren't promising lol:

Doesn't seem to work very well at all

The trumpet was my daughters only Christmas wish. It arrived damaged due to poor packaging. Placed into a satchel instead of being boxed. If we had time to find a replacement it would have been returned.

Are you wanting a toy or a musical instrument? Cheap musical instruments tend to be terrible actual instruments. Maybe try Amazon AU? Might be a bit more expensive than Ali express, but you'll probably get it faster if it's shipping from aussie

I'm actually doing a little less now. Been focusing on putting a few more small trees and more perennial herbs and veges so I'm not having to replace them every season.

I usually try to grow too many new things each year and sometimes end up not getting a lot of food out of it. I decided to focus on just a few types this year. Also a few more perennial flowers for the pollinators. Oh and not doing any tomatoes this time around has freed a lot of space!

Nice! What are you growing this year?

I converted another area of lawn to soil for planting, so now have even less grass to mow.

I did the the unthinkable this week and threw out a whole lot of the accumulated boxes from things we've bought in the last six years.

I remember thinking "Never know when I might need that again". Well, I need the space instead now!

Also you know you're getting older when you can appreciate a nice, sturdy cardboard box of quality

Sadly I don't think my children would fall for it.. I've tried the "Who can be quiet the longest" and it never worked!

Good luck whatever you decide! I've been looking on and off for awhile to replace our Prius, but there's barely anything that grabs my interest locally that is 6+ seats, hybrid and with a lot of space. It's either 10+ year old Nissan Serena's or expensive late model Toyota Highlanders or Sante Fe's and nothing in between here in the Waikato.

On March 18, 2022, scientists at the Concordia research station in the east Antarctic recorded the largest spike in temperature ever recorded with the region experiencing a rise of 38.5C above its seasonal average.

Unfortunately, it's not an isolated event with an increasing number of meteorologic anomalies being reported on the continent in the past two years.

The sea level rise map that was linked is interesting, I propose Hamilton to be the new international airport since both Auckland and Wellington's will be underwater

Sorry, I had to share as it's been stuck in my head since yesterday.

I see it's based on the book by Hugh Howey, who also did the Silo series which I really enjoyed the TV adaptation of. I'm wondering if it's any good as I don't have a lot of time for starting too many TV shows at the moment.

Jokes about Hamilton aside, this kind of sucks.

As someone who lives here it's sad to see and I'll get to pay for it through rates rises too!

I picked up a cheap Inkbird sous vide earlier in the year and it’s been great to use for steaks etc. But we haven’t been buying much meat lately due to prices and I’m wondering if I’m overlooking any less obvious uses for it?
