What do you mean exactly by "not web first?" I use it, and aside from not being able to detect the browser tab name without using the extension, I don't really see anything that would be missing

Yeah for sure. I knew my region was kind of a standout, but that map is even more damning than I thought, thanks for the link. If I'm reading the article correctly, the issues started long before the summer, the spring was really dry. At least the atlantic got some pretty heavy rain in June, though I'd be curious to see the july report when it comes out

Same here in montreal, my grass has never been this green in the middle of july. Kinda weird that we had all those forest fires when the summer's been pretty damn mild for now

As someone who works with people too stupid to log in to github without having to reset their password every time and having to take a full hour to figure out how to use their recovery method, that's going to be a pain in the butt. I can foresee lots of "hey, quick question"s if they really do phase out simpler login methods. It's good to have options for sure, but the standard login method should stay imo

I do have to wonder how he ever got through his doctorate. Reading is like the second most important skill for physicists, and writing isn't too far down the list either. Maybe it's different for mathematicians and/or other stem fields, but unless he's a super-genius, he'd be confronted to the need to read articles/material at some point, no?

You can cap the amount of cpu/memory docker is allowed to use. That helps a lot for those issues in my experience, although it still takes somewhat beefy machines to run docker in wsl
