Yup, I was friends with his older brother. Both of them were/are a bit weird, didn't think much of either of them academically until grade 12. Then their math & and computer genious came out. Had a few university classes with them, the older brother has better social skills, but Lee is more creative IMHO.

Upshot is I played Capsized in 2009, so that was neat.

I need to try out Xonotic. I went to high school with the guy who started the original game, who runs Alientrap now.

I've been meaning to try the original Crysis now that I have a computer that can play it. I started it, but then life happened.

DOOM Eternal didn't do it for me. It's Doom-ish, but not enough. It'd be a better game if it wasn't set in the Doom universe trying to add a bunch of non-Doom elements to the game. Doom (2016) did that too, but not to the same extent. I like the older Dooms mostly for their simplicity: get gun, see bad guy, shoot gun. Pick up health. Repeat. Doom Eternal did that, but added a story, weapon mods, and skills. Fine mechanics, but not Doom enough for me.

I'd hate to be the first human.. in the original game there are dead people all over the place and the evil humans you do see are posessed.

The ADL confirms, your comment is anti-semitic.

Anything less risks credibility.

Ironically, it's a very old term for a powerpoint presentation. Presentations used to be done with actual photographic slides in a projector. They were stored in a deck of slides.

I only know this from Mad Men.

Forget colour. That generation iMac was incredibly repairable compared to today's Apple stuff. Two screws on the back panel and the whole internal tray slides out. Every major component's immediately accessible. And all repair parts were available.

The government walked away from the table today. The STF announced new sanctions, including withdrawing noon supervision.

It's an older meme, but it checks out.

They're not "write-protected", they're literally a write-once medium. The name "burner" isn't a metaphore, that's actually what they do.

Naming things is one of the two hardest problems in computer science. The other one is cache coherency and off by one errors.
