I don't have the time to summarize this at the moment, but this piece from 2021 linked in nakedcapitalism.com on "is the PRC more financialized than the US?" is interesting. I'm curious what our local China heads have to say about this (@[email protected] ?)

This isn't a dam breaking. The pod jons don't have power. They and their simpering fans will vote for biden regardless, even if they are biting their tongues while they do it.

Several years ago, the state preferred to see police stations burned and millions of people in the streets and disappeared BLM organizers before making any concessions to the cause of "black people don't want to be extra judicially executed." when pro-palestine protestors start being murdered by the police in the US, then that is a sign that the machine is at least being threatened, even if it isn't a sign of breaking. We are not there.

American foreign policy is not influenced by the electorate in any meaningful way. Even if it was, the American electorate does not vote based on foreign policy issues. Full stop.

Like what's the worst consequence here for pro Israel forces in the US? Biden loses? Who fucking cares, trump is 99% as much of a nazi on this topic, he just uses different rhetoric. He will not make any meaningful changes.

I recall reading something about elephants being by far the animal most responsible for deforestation I world history, second only to humans. It was a long time ago but that's the jist of it

I mean, they've built a bunch of stuff, it's just not operational yet. A train track being complete is kinda like being pregnant or not - it's one or the other, no partial credit.
