the USA (and canada, and australia, and new zealand, and many more) are settler colonial states that were born out of mass genocide dictated by white supremacist rhetoric.
these states are white supremacist to their core
the fascists of the fedi don’t roam free on the wider network, they harass in secret, usually in DMs or "followers only" posts
there’s also a problem with subtle white supremacy, where Black people (and other POC, but mostly Black people) will get piles and piles of harassment that’s totally unrelated to being Black you see, of course, but its not happening to white people for some bizarre reason!! (see also: the many cases involving TheBadSpace where any Black person who was ever so slightly in favor of Ro and their work would get a fuckton of harassment)
(the last one is present on pretty much all social media, be it pre-Musk Twitter, Bluesky or Tumblr, but im told that it’s especially bad on the fedi)
because the nintendo games that people care about don’t really drop in price, or at least not significantly
if you’re lucky, you might find a popular switch game used for 50$ instead of 60$, but that’s about it
and if you’re going for retro games, it’s even worse. the retro games that people care about cost a fortune, pokemon is a good example
this is why, if you won’t pirate, you should buy used 😎

okay, I was gonna say that it’s not that big of a deal because you can just slightly lift it when you want to turn it on (or just slide your finder under it, if they’re small enough) but judging by that photo, it seems like the power button is at the back of the computer? whyyyy??
anyways, im more impressed by the fact that their new shiny mouse who finally uses USB-C still has the charging port at the bottom. im starting to think they think it’s a good design???
