Mise en place makes things soooo easy. When I meal prep I chop up all my veg on Saturday and stick it in the fridge, then cook on Sunday. Makes the whole process less overwhelming than doing everything in one sitting.

I would much prefer to live in a doggy dog world than a dog eat dog one, but such is life

Sleep a lot. Visit a bookstore or two. Attempt to read my library books. Gym. Judo. Meal prep. Uhhhh and I guess chores too.

In this technique, you reach between uke's legs, grab their belt, and pull it straight up to turn them over. Does anyone recognize this, and if so, do you know if it has a name or if there's a video of it floating around?

Let's say, less than 100USD for 50ml. Oils or clone houses also okay!

I've been thinking of setting some goals for the month. I lost my primary hobby (temporarily 🤞), so I've just been reading and spending ungodly amounts of time on Lemmy & Reddit. I want to spend my time in a more healthy and fulfilling way...

What are some goals you all are working towards? What are your hobbies that make you feel fulfilled? What's something that makes you look forward to the (near) future?

Recently got injured. I'm missing judo a lot. Can you please recommend some good judo books to read, or even sports books in general?

On my list I have Mind Over Muscle by Jigoro Kano and Angry White Pyjamas by Robert Twigger.

Living in a place with carpeted floors for the first time. What kind of cleaning routine should I have to keep the carpet clean?

Preferably set in the real world, though it's not a hard requirement.

Fiction or biography are both fine :)

Hi all, I've been lifting for about half a year and following 5/3/1 for most of that time. I will be traveling a lot for a 6-month period; at best I will have sporadic access to hotel gyms. My goal during this time is to maintain strength and work on cardio/conditioning.

And so, I am thinking that I should probably switch to bodyweight exercises, starting with the routine from Hybrid Calisthenics. I am not very strong (all 5/3/1 training maxes are 100lb or less) so I think I can make some progress with only bodyweight. When I do get access to dumbbells, I can do many of the movements weighted.

Are there any other/better options that I may be overlooking, both for the type of exercise (calisthenics) and the specific routine?

Any advice would be appreciated. TIA :)

I cut them short. I also tried putting tape on my fingertips but it comes off within 5-10 minutes. Is there anything else I could try, maybe a different way of taping? Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

Is it okay to do so?

Also, what if it's connected to a machine, like a smith machine or maxrack?

Hi all, I will be participating in my first local tournament in ~3 weeks. Planning to ask my sensei for advice this week but thought I'd ask here too :)

What are the most important things to focus on between now and then? Any tips for nerves and "mental" preparation, like things to do the day before/morning of? I am planning to ask for grip fighting practice and maybe 1-2 good entries for my favorite throw, is there anything else you would recommend?

Thanks.
