Are we really getting the indoor cat brigade on lemmy too? Yes, in the US outdoor cats are a danger to local wildlife. Stop pushing this on people who this does not apply to. Outdoor cats are fine in many other parts of the world. The USA isn't the whole world.

If you want some of these features on mobile Android TV, you've still got options!

For Android TV, there's SmartTubeNext: https://smarttubenext.com/ It includes ad blocking and SponsorBlock. I also think the UX is a bit better than the official YouTube app.

For Android, there's obviously ReVanced: https://revanced.app/

And for iOS there's uYou+ (hasn't been updated in a while): https://github.com/qnblackcat/uYouPlus or iVanced (https://github.com/TherionRO/YouTubeiVanced) they will need AltStore to be installed, and will need to be re-signed with a PC/Mac every week.

You can also use AdGuard on iOS though safari and the SponsorBlock extension in the App Store too, but video quality isn't great.

If you want to avoid resigning with AltStore or using Google services, there's also Yattee for iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/id1595136629 and Invidious and Piped client!

I don't have an android device so if any of my info is wrong let me know!

We'll see if Ricciardo really does still have it. I think Lawson was the better option. Yes he's currently competing in Super Formula but they did it before with Gasly in 2017. It makes more sense to me to try their strongest young driver.

As others say, Bitwarden checks all of those boxes, and KeepassXC technically doesn't fit the "not self hosted" requirement, but you can store your database file in any cloud storage you want.

qBittorrent, for its search engine. It's fantastic. If it didn't have it though I'd use Transmission.

Strongly in favour of defederating. Firstly because I don't want advertising or big businesses taking over feeds, but the point you made about moderation is critical. The sheer amount of content that instance admins will have to deal with will be unmanageable.

Almost always software issues. Of course with the cheap ones I got when I was young weren't great when they were new. The one I remember being underwhelming was the Oneplus 6T, which I bought new. It was great for the first year, then it started crashing, lagging under fairly normal use. Funnily enough the performance was fine in games, normal usage was the problem. It also had a tendency to turn itself off at random.

I've had my iPhone longer than I had the Oneplus and it runs just as well today as it did when I bought it.

Glad to hear you've had a good experience with long term use. I'd love to stick to android but from personal experience they just don't last when I get a hold of them.

And this is why I didn't fully believe it when people were saying Red Hats antics wouldn't affect Fedora upstream.

What alternatives are there to Fedora that offer a similar balance of stability and regular releases?

God I hated that guy. And the tweets were basically always the same thing. "Holy fucking shit, trump admitted to thing. He can't get out of this one, he's done for real this time." Ignoring the fact that trump has seemingly admitted to everything he's done wrong and gotten away Scot free

Windows 11. I'd love to switch to Linux but I have a few edge cases that keep me from doing that right now. I made the mistake of buying Forza Horizon 5 on the Windows store instead of steam. I know I can move my save over to the steam version and rebuy it, but I got the premium version and have no idea what DLC I need to buy again when I look at the store page. And I have an oculus quest which I use with Oculus Link to play PCVR games. There's ALVR to do it on Linux, but compared to link it's not going to cut it for me. Once I have a new VR headset (AKA when valve replaces the Index) and Forza horizon 6 is out/5 is EOL I'm more than happy to make the jump.
