@Emil The "blanket" claim is a direct reference to that stage, which is only a partial Thorium application, compared to Oak Ridge's standard set DECADES ago, and is far superior.

Both India and Russia know this. And Putin, who essentially owns both Rosatom and Gazprom, is perfectly fine with delayed, overpriced extortion overextending completion schedules, keeping nuclear at a 10% market share to 90% of his fossil fuels profits. And the EU and US are complicit in thus abuse of power.

Follow the money. This is why industrialized nations will never have TMSR's, while even developing nations' window is closing just as fast.

@Emil Impressive that both India, and Russia, two BRICS countries and leaders in the #nuclear field, have not only kept the Thorium element of reactors to a "blanket" application, but also overall suppressed the full Thorium cycle from broad distribution since Oak Ridge. A true testament to just how much fossil fuels profits, supersedes politics.

@NuModular @Emil It's still a markedly polaric differential, between a modern, first-world country like the US, and these 'third' world countries affecting more sustainable upgrades. And with corollary reductions in demographics amongst more authoritarian/communist countries, along with destabilizing war and economic scales, the swing becomes even more of a steep decline, instead of a sustainable oscillation to-and-fro.
