Chinese diplomats always come across as super patient and reasonable even in the face of Western hysteria. I remember a year or two ago Channel 4 in the UK interviewed a Chinese government official who was talking about how Britain and China could have a strong future together where they worked cooperatively and the interviewer responded by interrupting him constantly and repeatedly bringing up the Uyghurs, it was embarrassing even by British media standards - I was tempted to write to the embassy to vaguely apologise for the cringe but figured it would be a waste of their time or be misinterpreted, not quite alienated and weird enough to be Stan but writing to the Chinese government yet lmao
