Looks like I'll be leaving SFBA.

It's not officially confirmed, but it appears that @[email protected] has shadowbanned me by removing my ability to post Public toots.

Even when I choose Public, it becomes Unlisted, thus minimizing my visibility.

Now, this could be some sort of bug or a mistake, but I have no reason to think so. And unless it's fixed immediately, I will not be staying on this instance. No, there was no prior notification or other discussion.

The real service being offered by instances isn't access to Fedi, it's moderation. If they intentionally did this to me, then they don't deserve users. They certainly deserve me.

@[email protected], why is this happening?

Is this a bug or is it intentional?

This is a test. I am attempting to post a Public toot, not Unlisted.

Sometimes the pro-Hamas people say the quiet part loud.

A bunch of them like posting snuff photos; unverifiable but grisly images of death. Violence porn, intended to shock and to garner sympathy.

I won't link, for obvious reasons, but one of the worst offenders, who has explicitly endorsed Hamas, recently posted one such image. It shows what appears to be a corpse under a impromptu shroud, with just a small, dirty hand sticking out.

The image has text embedded in it that reads, and I quote exactly, "A martyr child in day 100 of the aggression on Gaza."

Without going into much detail on the issue of why there's "aggression" (hint: Hamas' massacre on 10/7), something else strikes me.

The corpse is not referred to as a victim or a casualty, but as a "martyr". This is the quiet part being said loudly.

The people calling for a one-sided ceasefire need to look at this.

I'm of mixed minds about this.

Sure, what she says here is correct. But the truth is that she's incredibly thin-skinned and quick to block. Ask me how I know.

The Justice Democrats, including Khanna and Tlaib, are carrying water for terrorists!

In quotes contained in this article, these two lie in defense of the Iran-funded Houthi terrorists in Yemen. Specifically, they're claiming that our retaliation against them for attacking merchant ships was "unconstitutional".

This isn't just nonsense, it's absurd. Yes, article 1 requires Congressional approval for a declaration of war, but Biden did not declare war, nor is he fighting an undeclared war.

Instead, he acted under the authority of 33 U.S. Code § 381, which has been on the books since 1815 and gives the president broad authority to order the Navy to conduct anti-piracy operations.

You'd think these worthless far-left politicians would know these things, or perhaps talk to a lawyer before shooting off their mouths, but no.

And now Fox and Al Jazeera and other anti-Democratic propaganda mills are repeating the lie, often without correction.

Context:

It's not a war between Israel and Hamas, it's between the so-called Axis of Resistance and all of its enemies, which includes Israel and the US.

This "axis" is Iran and its cronies and proxies.

(Salvaged response that would have been lost due to their block.)

The Gazan Palestinians have the misfortune of being ruled by a terrorist government which commits massacres that lead to retaliation.

Then Hamas has gotten what it wanted.

No, it's Hamas throwing the Gazans under the bus.

It's not new: terrorism is old. But talking about other things doesn't change this one.

No country is going to let a thousand people get slaughtered by terrorists and just shrug it off. The goal of the 10/7 massacre was to start a war, and it worked.

Ok, and why is that? Could Israel have targeted just military buildings and avoided civilian ones? Or did Hamas blur any such distinction by using homes, schools, and hospitals as military command centers? Hint: it's the latter, and it constitutes a war crime.

What you seem to be missing is that Biden supports Israel, not Likud.

So, I'm starting to conclude that Fedi is hopeless. Politically, it's self-selected for the radical left.

I did say they would block me, right?

And that's fine. It is right for mob bosses to die behind bars.

He doesn't have 20 years left. Look at him: he's 77 and in terrible shape.

His death is less important than how he lives out the rest of his life. Better that he survive long enough to receive punishment for his crimes and serve as a lesson for those who would follow in his footsteps.

Right, we have to stop Trump to block the rise of fascism. It's necessary, but not sufficient.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (9 children)

I wish I could agree, but I can't. Trumpism is just a particular brand of fascism. It's not like Naziism died with Hitler, either. Then again, Hitler had to die.

So, yes, we do have to stop Trump and punish him for his crimes, but we shouldn't imagine that it will end with him. However, if we don't stop him, then it will continue with him.
