So smoke alarms are designed to lasts up to 10 years and unless your device is AC with Battery Backup, any photoelectric smoke alarms are efficient. I would strongly recommend the new models a bit more expensive but has a built-in Lithium battery that lasts 10 years (so no more battery to replace) and avoid Kidde as they have too many recalls in the past
