I hate when people ask me to pass them their glasses. They're putting the responsibility of not smudging their glasses on me. Sure I can do it, but there is always that small possibility of failure.

If the glasses are folded up there is that moment of trying to decide how to grab the glasses. Do I grab them by the bridge bit that sits on their nose, or by the bits that hook over the ears? Surely it's too risky to grab by the frame around the glasses.. if they exist.

I swear coral island just appeared out of nowhere. It seems to be popping up on a ton of cozy gaming communities. It takes a lot of inspiration from Stardew Valley...

I decided to give the gold place breaking video a watch and although these people are skilled, I just don't quite get the "this is the current peak of human physical fitness/skill" that we see from other sports. Diving, Rowing, BMXing, even synchronised swimming were all really impressive. I wonder if Breaking will make a return?

I recently kept getting advertised Loudermilk on Netflix. I'd see the initial trailer that they play and wasn't intrigued. I then sat down for lunch and wanted something to watch, I decided to give it a go and after the first couple of episodes I was hooked. I finished season 3 and it was such a fun show to watch. Unfortunately I see the studio that created it has been shuttered. What's the likelihood this show will ever be picked up again?

I was absolutely excited for Black and White when I was younger. In school we had to write an article for English class and I chose to write about Black and White's upcoming release. I got a good mark from it and my English teacher was equally intrigued.

The game came out and I sunk a good amount of hours into it. Was it the best game? No of course not, but it gave me great memories. I don't think I'll ever go back and play it again as it won't live up to the nostalgia, but it would be interesting if someone attempted to tackle this kind of genre again.

I know this is probably a long shot but does anyone know of a non-biased source of all party Manifestos?

I remember some time ago there was a site where people could answer questions on subjects that were important to them and based on those which party is recommended.

Most definitely an unpopular opinion. When the Matrix originally released it was a technical marvel, that moment Neo is dodging the bullets in slow motion was incredible. I think as the years have gone on the story has lost some of its charm because the wachowskis have been butchering the franchise to try and protect it in some strange way. As a standalone movie The Matrix story and technical implementation were phenomenal, as soon as they made sequels, and other movies started to copycat, it began to lose that magic

Back when I was younger in college there was a guy who was very socially awkward and unfortunately had a stink that could be smelt from the opposite end of a long corridor. He used to hang out with another kid who had learning difficulties. One day one of the least nice people in my class said to smelly guy "Jesus Christ, why don't you go take a shower, you stink!" and this caused smelly guy to go bright red in the face and storm off.

Cut to after class and a bunch of us go to the communal area of the college and hang out. Smelly guy walks into the area and walks up to his friend all flustered. His friend asks "Are you alright?" And smelly guy says "Someone told me I need a shower because I smell", friend says very timidly "it might be a good idea." Smelly guy goes bright red and storms off again.

He comes back after about 10 minutes and walks up to his friend and pulls out two cans of deodorant and shouts "YOU THINK I SMELL?!" And proceeds to spray the deodorant over himself in a rage...but then turns on his friend and sprays him like crazy. Everyone around is in shock and smelly guy throws the cans on the floor and storms out of the building. We can all see him out the window and he walks up to a bin and kick it, it doesn't move (secured to the ground) and he falls over, gets up and runs off. We didn't see him for the rest of the week.

The following week he turns up and his hair has been cut, he has new clothes and his aura of stink is gone. People just casually say hi and over the remaining time we were at college people started to talk to him more and were more polite towards him. He'd still hang out with his friend so I suspect that outburst was water under the bridge.

I hope ex-smelly guy is alright in life. That must have been quite the turning point for him.

Looks like someone managed to pull the gear sets from the benchmark. Loving the extra detail to all the gear, even if some look a little boring.

If anyone genuinely feels this way and wants to get started in coding, I highly recommend doing one of the mooc.fi courses. Codecademy is fine as a taster/refresh but don't waste money on the premium when something like mooc is available for free.

I feel for the teacher, Windows is still the predominant OS that is used by businesses worldwide and it's unlikely to change any time soon. Ensuring the kids have some familiarity with it is important as when a lot of them go into the workplace their employer isn't going to give them a choice of OS to use. A number of schools in my country now provide kids with Windows laptops that can be managed through group policies. I can imagine the teacher feeling frustrated at times as their teaching material will be geared to Windows and may face challenges in being able to grade your kid.

It's great you have given your kid experience in using Linux and that should set them up really well to working in a Linux based environment. Hopefully one day other OS will be added to teacher's curriculum so that all kids have the opportunity to get hands on experience.
