Imagine watching 10 years of Scooby Doo and the bad guy always escapes in the end and is never revealed. That is what reading news about trump feels like.

Russia will use this as propaganda. Putins second favorite slander about the west (right after everyone is a homosexual) is talking about all the addiction and drugs people take in the west and how this is wrecking the social fabric in the west. Of course he leaves out the part where a vast amounbt of russian man have a serious alcohol addiction.

Allowing cannabis for medical use is actually a good thing and is a show of progression. And there are twenty-somethings in russia too, who wish they could have this ability aswell as they get locked up for using it. But sadly, Putin can not grant it, as it would be a 180 on his previous hate talks and he is too thinly skinned that he could ever openly admit that he changed his mind on things like that. So he continues to lie, continues to ban and suppress and will use this development in Ukraine to spew the most heinous shit about this. He is after all a weak and pity man.

For me it is so weird, that you have to use extra tools to disable telemetry and unwanted features in windows systems. Why is windows not giving me a central option to decide on those things? Is it maybe because they do not want me to decide for myself and therefore splitting the places where I need to disable all that unwanted stuff as opaque as possible? Can they be more obvious that they do not value your opinion on how you want your OS to behave?

Quit Windows. It is a dead end and get worst with every release.

If you tolerate this, then your children will be next.

That was always a bullshit move by Apple and crippled the Firefox product in an unacceptable and cartel law questionable dimension. MS had a Monopoly on IE, by giving advantages binding it to the OS? Apple did the exact same thing on iOS with Safari.

Those companies are such a drag for human society because they are afraid of their bottom line. the Music Industry and Amazon also would have burned down the Library of Alexandria if they had deemed it worrisome to their profit.

It is quite crazy. People will have time until Sept. 12 to spend their coins on awards ... and then Reddit will delete all gilded awards from every post. WTF? Why even use them at all from now on?

This thing reeks of control. Reddit is trying to prohibit people from giving undesired opinions more visibility. In the past sometimes comments received awards that were not in line with advertisers. Now by removing this feature, these comments can only receive an up- or downvote but do not stand out by gilded awards anymore. And the up- and downvote is something that can easily be twiddled with behind the scenes to the desired outcome. It was much harder to remove awards from a comment, as the person who gave them out, would recognize it immediately. But who can proof that their up/downvote was not counted correctly... it is the perfect manipulation.

In a guided democracy, the government controls elections such that the people can exercise democratic rights without truly changing public policy. While they follow basic democratic principles, there can be major deviations towards authoritarianism. Under managed democracy, the state's continuous use of propaganda techniques prevents the electorate from having a significant impact on policy.[3] It is today widely employed in Russia, where it was introduced into common practice by Kremlin theorists, in particular Gleb Pavlovsky.
