Quite basic question on Monero payment privacy

I have a quick question regarding privacy. I'm not planning to do anything illegal so I don't necessarily need to get my XMR through anonymous ways like Localmonero. I'd rather get the best exchange rates and lowest fees and prefer using my credit card or a bank transfer to get my XMR rather than physical cash.

Would any of these approaches still be anonymous?

  1. Go to a site like monero.com, buy XMR with my credit card with my own wallet as recipient, then use that wallet to purchase things (e.g. VPN subscription). I guess now monero.com (but only them) would be able to connect that wallet to my name?

  1. The same but transfer the money to another XMR wallet before spending it. Shouldn't that already create anonymity because the XMR blockchain doesn't show that the money goes from my Wallet 1 to my Wallet 2?

  1. Buy BTC or LTC with my credit card, change that to XMR (e.g. in Cake Wallet) and spend that. Obviously this would result in slightly higher fees due to an additional exchange. Not sure if this would be any better than just using two XMR wallets.

Any plans for Monero on /r/place this year already? Happening tomorrow.

I just noticed this year's </r/place> is happening tomorrow and since it was a lot of fun last year I'd like to ask if someone is planning to coordinate something similar like last year?

Unfortunately I'm currently on holidays with my kids and obviously can't spend all day helping out, but I'd probably be available during the weekend.

Questions - If you're using Monero, come brag about it. If you wish you were, whats stopping you?

Howdy! I'm a fan of XMR and ETC. I have a few quick questions I think most people might find interesting and it doubles as a chance for others to gain new perspective alike.

If you're using monero

  • Where do you find yourself using Monero, if occasionally or often?
  • What excites you the most about Monero right now?

If you're not using Monero but maybe you're just a fan watching from afar

  • What if anything is stopping you from using monero?
  • Where do you wish you could use or try monero?

Monero Run had bad timing

I think it was a great idea - but I think it had bad timing.

I think exchanges have oversold their hand thinking the prices would remain low for longer - I see A LOT of complaints in places like r/coinbase and r/btc where people are not

I also dabble in very low market cap altcoin mining so deal with some lowcap exchanges, lots of reports from users (and pool owners) that withdraws are being delayed or not happening at all.

Right now we are in an environment where exchanges are suddenly short currencies. Now would have been a good time to do a Monero Run. Either now or shortly after the next exchange collapse, so we can ride the social media wave so to speak.

Thoughts? Anyone having any trouble withdrawing XMR - or any other crypto - these days? If so, what exchange? How long? Thanks for the input!
