I'm gonna hope you didn't walk in while followed by the crab and was instead exploring when it came it.

Also, what items did you have? Apart from the already mentioned use-the-key there may have been other options. The blue crab moves slower than the player which allows some room to play with.

I see. Yeah I wasn't quite sure from your description and only briefly looked at the image so I didn't even notice it was a gif

They are showing without the item because that gets randomized each game. Open the journal while in a run and you'll see all ID'd items filled out fully

I'm a big fan of the hawk. With speed upgrades it can more than keep up with your RoH, you can use it to see into rooms without having to expose yourself, at which point that projecting+arcana can do some fine work

That's the thing though, I can imagine reasons, but none of them seem consistent with the other choices and specified rules "i assumed they wanted to be with me" and "would try to be as safe as possible"

I have to ask though, why No on the Succubus?

Even nicer: if there is a piece of tall grass next to water, just walk around it while hitting. Step, hit, step, hit etc. until it's done. There are a couple cheesier solutions depending on what you have (e.g. rose and bow)

Consider a network tap. Should by design be invisible to the program being examined.

Yeah, I noticed you invested a fair bit in a wand compared to my direct RoH RoSS approach

Had some time to kill so I finally ascended my seeded tier 1 run. It was fairly easy tbh, a nice break from the high chal runs I'm grinding

Only relevant mistake I made this run was not keeping the rotberry seed for making grass

cloak

And if you want the seed.

seed

Yup. Had some time to kill offline so I just ascended that run, I'll probably drop a post as well

My first 7 (IIRC) chal wins were with that combo, I had some experience with what I was doing.

Congrats. I have the seeded RoH + RoSS run unfinished, just about to do alchemy prep before I go kill Yog. I will note that food has been no issue, as I write I've explored all floors and have 19 rations and miscellaneous other food.

I would love an early RoSS RoH (ideally both +2) for 2.5.0 to have a reliable setup for a pure tier 1 run.

Bonus points for an early transmute scroll and other conveniences

Yog had it rough, meanwhile I had the spare resources to play with alchemy items I haven't used before

Set up a simple farm

Mildly related, do you usually clear the curse on f1? To me it just feels right to do

No wonder I couldn't find the door while on my way down

As a Huntress players, I find there are 2 things that annoy me the most, that I would love improved:

  • When the Spirit Hawk dies (expires, no enemy present) while sleeping, I very much want to wake up, similar for wards getting sniped by ranged enemies
  • Often enough especially when farming I want to repeatedly shoot in the same direction at an enemy I can't see. I'd love some convenient way to shoot "same aim as previous shot" repeatedly when there is no visible enemy.

I would very much like this as a feature. Especially when trying to farm, it's decently convenient to sleep e.g. in a garden while the Spirit Hawk acts as a lookout. The only problem is that the hawk seems to expire after some time, and the game does not interrupt the sleep for this. I would very much like to be woken up for this, just as if I was hit with an attack. Similar goes for a ward getting destroyed without seeing the enemy for a turn.
