Shirley: "You really do excuse racism..."

The modern trend of people from the former East Germany supporting AfD probably has more to do with the interceding decades of liberal rule,

Which West Germany didn't face?

combined with the region’s historic relative poverty (which preceded even the Nazis).

Western Germany was more industrialized, because of 2 reasons: 1: access to coal and metal in the Ruhr, 2: Access to trade with Europe.

The former is just natural, the latter is more of that "librul witchcraft" of globalization.

The only difference between the two otherwise is that the Soviets brutalized the East, and that left a legacy of uneducated poverty.

Basically the Soviets took an impoverished land and squeezed as hard as they could.

Oh, and you're right there were no camps in East Germany, those camps were in the USSR: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forced_labor_of_Germans_in_the_Soviet_Union

GRT is one of the strongest ideological narratives of current racists.

It really should be.

If I was illiterate racist redneck trash in the south, I'd be terrified when decent people who actually believe in work and are far better Christians than I always scream I am show up.

Trash is embarrassed when they're compared next to not-trash.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 hours ago

That’s what they said last time.

Last time it was to force a vote they wanted to go right, which it did.

This one is actually embarrassing to the court.

[-] [email protected] -1 points 3 hours ago

It really is, except for East Germany, which got rid of their Nazi trash and replaced them with Soviet trash, which, just like Russia has, swerved them hard nazi again.

Amen, he let the South assassinate Lincoln and get away with it because it made him president.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 5 hours ago

Damn, I conflated the two numbers. I am shame.

Seriously, dude has the power of life and death, he can literally resurrect anyone.

"I'm off-duty, sir."

This whole thing seems so easy to solve:

Take away the electoral votes of the south until they finally sort their shit out.

We never should have given it back to them after reconstruction, the VRA was dismantled because a conservative supreme court said 'it's been in place so long it must have fixed things, and you can't prove it hasn't!' followed by waves of voter suppression throughout the south.

Let's go back to reconstruction and try it again, we shouldn't have stopped, that corrupt bargain in 1877 was a mistake, we just let the plantation class slime right back into power.

It wasn't a conservative, it was probably some random clerk.

And they deserve a fucking medal.

I do have a problem with them, the same problem was solved, better, with other technologies like appImage (which doesn't litter your mount list with 100 meaningless entries).

Even flatpak is better, snap is an also ran they're trying to force on us without being as good as any of the competitors.

Your honor, I would like the opportunity to interview the underaged girl accusing me of rape, privately in my basement, so we can try to reenact the crime and confirm her testamony.

Barr, who was appointed by Trump, responded “of course” when asked on CBS’s “Face the Nation” if he would be willing to appear as a witness in Trump’s trial over federal charges related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

The property manager, Carlos De Oliveira, is now also charged in the case. He told a Mar-a-Lago information technology expert that “‘the boss’ wanted the server deleted,” according to the revised indictment. After the employee said he did not know how to delete the footage, or whether he had the right to do so, De Oliveira restated the request from “the boss” and asked, “What are we going to do?”

This reads like AI plagiarized The Onion.

Moderates in Biden won seats are pushing to ease the abortion restrictions in the spending bill.

Interesting, puts McCarthy in a really tough spot though.

Cross-posting from news. Weird to see this kind of endorsement.

I personally consider Biden a fiscal-moderate even if his social agenda is further (but not outrageously) left. Still an odd source of support.
