Nordic Games is talking a lot of shit for a company that fired a lot of their employees and killed their underling studios before the entire firing craze of 2023 and 2024. Hey, hows that deal with the Saudis going again? Oh, right, it fucking isn't because you staked your entire companies future on it and they decided they wanted out.

It's not really an acknowledgement, it's more of a threat. With how the ruling went, it's implicit understanding that says "We honestly don't care, don't try because if you do, we'll make sure you get the chair." Doctors can't do jack and I bet you that if this ruling is used as precedent, they are going to use to start justifying why people who need healthcare the most should just die....
Huh, that sounds little familiar. Kind of like a life decider.... no, that's not quite it. I'm sure it will come to me later.
It's mostly covered in ToddfromtheShadow's, who happened to choose actual violence and dispute as many claims as possible. Some of the things that came up is that:
- He thinks that all the gays who died in the Aids pandemic were the cool ones and that the boring ones didn't do anything but focus on the boring rights, like the very cornerstones of the Civil Rights movements. The specific statement is also a directly plagiarized statement that came from someone who was mostly aiming it at artists because she liked to start shit.
- He seems to really like nazis to the point of making shit up about how the Nazis are the reason why Amercians enlisted in WW2 (for those who don't know, America did not have a large enough enlistment and most GIs were conscripted soldiers) and proposing fringe theories about why we designed our body building programs in first place.
- He despises women and transpeople. When he isn't plagiarizing (and therefore going off script) he goes on entire tangents about why women are the reason why Dalmar and Bundy get away with their crimes, and he stills massive amount of his work from transpeople. He also likes to deal in my personal favorite, Bi Erasure.
What? No! I'm just surprised that Spider-man 2 didn't win anything at all. Even Alan Wake 2 won stuff and the game had only been out for less then a month before the nominees were announced.
Spider man won no awards and Balders Gate took the win. Pleasently surprised on both accounts.
Judging from my understanding of the trial, that pretty much sums up his defense.
So, interesting point here is that the jury only took 4 hours to complete. Just four. That means that they basically made up their minds and they just needed to confirm.
He's already decided that he's out of the speakership entirely, meaning that getting the speakership will likely turn into another John Boehner-style Cold War where the most right side of the party gets exactly what they want and the more "moderate" side will get flushed again unless the "moderates" turn it into an actual civil war. Best case scenerio is that Dems get 5 votes and just make one of their own the speaker for the rest of the session.
Well, under any other circumstances, I would absolutely agree. Many users for other projects do, and have, volunteered their time, money, and blood (both in a metaphorical and a somewhat literal sense) so that a project can survive and live. However, that's just not the case here.
More then enough end users have tried to make the switch to become engineers, developers, bug hunters, the full works. They have offered up their time, their blood, their money, and their minds trying to help Lemmy get off the problems it currently sits on. There isn't a bereft amount of people, both experienced and inexperienced, unwilling to help, in fact, there's probably too many spoons in the pot.
What I'm trying to say is that, it's not problem with the helpers, it's a problem with those who need the help, because it appears that those who need the help don't really want it in the first place at all.
If that was the case, then games like Jedi: Cal Kestis and the upcoming Dragon Age and Mass Effect games wouldn't even exist, even with the surprise success of Jedi: Fallen Order. But also, that's not even what happened with Andromeda. What happened is that BioWare's A and B teams screwed over the team that was making Andromeda constantly. That team (henceforth referred to as the C team) before had only had experience with the wildly considered to be worst DLCs of ME:3, and was working with an engine that was known for being incredibly hard to work with and temperamental with any game that wasn't a first-person shooter.
Even so, they had to struggle without the help of the significantly more experienced team leads and were bullied constantly without resources. After the game failed, the C teams were then dummied out of the company to other sections of EA. BioWare then went on to make Anthem.... without the C teams help who by that point were experienced enough to probably deal with some of the growing pains. Andromeda and Anthem were two games that were made entirely by the behest of BioWare, with little to no involvement from EA, because at that point, they were still the starling studio of EA. In fact, as an aside, the only involvement from an EA exec for Anthem was one of them was playing a vertical slice that ended up deciding the rest of the game because all the Exec said was that it was fun.
