Enshittification is the logical consequence of modern capitalism, where profit is the ONLY consideration. Satisfied customers, happy employees, sustainability, the environment - none of that is important to a modern CEO, only profit.
So what will happen is that mods who enforce unpopular rules in a subreddit, such as "no NSFW", will get voted out. This can't possibly go wrong. /s
Given that the Republicans are nominally a Christian party, has no one in the party had a look at what Jesus taught about feeding the hungry? It is pretty clear, and it is NOT this.
Imagine how differently this would have played out if Reddit CEO Steve Huffman had taken a collaborative approach with app developers and stake holders. A few months ago, he could have called them up and humbly asked them for ideas and assistance in making Reddit profitable. Reddit would be on path to financial success by now.
I'm not surprised because Meta said they were doing just that. Anyone who had an account on Instagram automatically has an account reserved for them on Threads. I don't see anything nefarious about it.
