Half a mil to put their thumbs up their asses instead of just literally giving that money directly as reparations jokerfied

Edit: I want to clarify, I fully support reparations, I'm just extremely frustrated knowing that, under liberal/bourgeoisie democracy, these types of efforts tend to get bogged down with means testing, and sometimes outright turn into thinly-veiled handouts to private corporations. All while the police budget is still increasing YOY.

That said, Evanston (city on Chicago's northern border) did actually manage to distribute "...$25,000 in no-strings-attached direct cash payments for those eligible. Black residents who lived in Evanston during a 50-year period of discriminatory zoning laws and their direct descendants receive priority for eligibility." So I don't want to encourage further reactionary criticisms such as mine towards this specific subcommittee if they are able to achieve at least some form of direct payments similar to Evanston's program.

He's just another left-liberal who thinks THE solution is taxing the wealthy and having stronger unions, as if those are even viable options under a bourgeois democracy.

I stopped even paying attention to him when he first ran under The People's Party, a group of/closely-tied to LaRouchites. I assume the grift is to just get money from whatever Bernie supporters haven't moved further left since 2020? I found the most effective, consistent method of triggering grillman into a blind rage is to simply smile and give them a thumbs up. I wonder if it's something about appearing content and happy while they are bound by all the contradictions and inconveniences of owning a car, especially in a city.

I actually had to stop doing it because one guy sped up so much to beat me to the next red light, he first very nearly hit me on the way and then had to slam on his breaks so hard he lost traction and almost spun out - all this in the middle of a city intersection with narrow roads, no less.

This tracks, there's actually some evidence that drivers behave more dangerously around cyclists wearing helmets.

Scientists should study carbrains more, and try to understand why cyclists trying to protect themselves seems to attract drivers like moths to a flame.
