No.

Just don't stick your head inside when it's on. Pretty simple, just like a fucking oven. Imagine that!

Well that's unfortunate.

Maybe Ditto will clear the security team. Hell, they might love it and be grateful to learn about it.

I'd think being in the MS store would help a little.

Try it on your personal machine, I can't live without it, and everyone I've shown it to says "why isn't this part of windows"?

Dammit, why have I never thought to use AHK for this? I already use the custom context menu script someone developed about 15 years ago (Favorite Folders? It's on the AHK/AutoIT forum) , I can just add it to that.

AHK/AutoIT are game changers. I feel naked on a machine without it, I'm so used to Ctrl-Middle -click to get to all sorts of things... Folders, scripts, tools, automations (like your date idea), etc.

Ticky-tee! Hahahaha, love it!

Well, if you can't be bothered to ensure file names mean something, then you get to enjoy the results.

In the Real World®, sometimes files get shared and traded around, and conversations happen about them, and you need to be able to quickly verify you're looking at the same doc.

We can't all be connected to the same version control system.

Every circumstance is different, but undoubtedly the RAID cpu temp will drop since it's not doing anything.

Also, it seems the direction today for self holsters is software RAID, which I can get behind because I've had RAID cards die, and when they can't be replaced, you're out of luck.

Is shoking something like choking?

It probably would lower the temp because the on-board cpu would no longer be doing the RAID controlling.

All that work would be offloaded to the system CPU and whatever software you use to control the RAID setup (TrueNAS, Proxmox, UnRAID, etc).

Of course this would mean backing up all the data on those drives (which you're already doing, right) and rebuilding the array with the software you choose.

There are canned goods over 100 years old (salvaged from shipwrecks) that get tested occasionally. Still safe to eat (even if maybe you wouldn't want to).

Use date/time in your file name, using GMT:

Metrics of Sales 2024-05-22_14-29.docx

Very unlikely to have 2 docs with the same down-to-the-minute time stamp in the name.

Yoga, this guy has a great story of his own health issues (a former "wrestler" as in the entertainment stuff on TV, which is not exactly a safe thing).

Also, just get out and walk in a park. Start slow. Make it measurable (like in time).

Frequency matters more than just about anything else. Doing a little bit here and there through the day can make a world of difference.

Can you take a mid-day break and walk, even for 10-15 minutes?

Get up and walk around your office for a few minutes an hour. Better if you can do this every 30 minutes... Just get up. Sitting is bad juju.

Don't forget your vision. Look outside, to the distance, for a minute or two occasionally. This helps the muscles that control your eyes (like any muscle, they don't like sitting still).

The hardest part of any of this is the mental choice, the commitment to make a change to a new routine. I've always struggled with this, but have worked with people who were great at it - so I think of them occasionally for motivation. One guy would be at the gym at 5am,every day... In his 20's - and then come to work and manage a team of people. A middle-aged manager (in his 50's) I worked for would go for a run on his lunch break.

Oh, to be so motivated.

You can do this. Just mentally reward yourself for any little thing you do. Keep an internal dialogue about the positive aspects of doing things that help, to counter the "fuck I don't want to do this" voice.
