Anyone else that cannot read this article? When I try to scroll it just don't move..

I have to say The Substance. It was really a joy seeing it. I was very exited that Coralie Fargeatwas made another movie since Revenge was a fun but painful watch. The ending was a mixed bag while I do see where it was coming from.

What is your favorite horror so far?

I kinda regret buying it for PS4 now. I did however play it trough in a day or two so It's not like i did not enjoy myself but I've been wanting years for it to come on PC and of course Rockstar is trying to scam me into buying it for a third time.

Anyone surprised? This is apparently not the first time. These people should be prosecuted for scamming people.

Well it certainly is interesting. But it's not for everyone that is for sure.

I get that but I'm pretty sure it's a metaphor for what the character is trying to do. She is becoming a monster because she has to feel so good when in reality she feels like a monster.

Absolutely! I loved how the director worked with the wide-angle lenses so that you got much more out of the picture, it also made me feel sick to my stomach so many times.. But yeah. The ending.. What a shit fest lol, and not really in a bad way but a WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK kind of way. Note if you've seen her other movie, Revenge, it is kinda reminiscent of that. It's a really bloody ending there as well and she apparently love that types of scenes. I also wonder if the bloody walls was a reference to The Shining, someone commented on this earlier in the thread but the hallway where she walks is totally a reference to that as well.

Yes! Totally! That was some of the best parts of the movie!

Haha! I would love to watch it again with friends... But I'm sure my friends are not going to like it (except one)... But I only want to watch it again with them to see their reactions..

One thing I was thinking about when watching this movie was that it reminded me a lot of the movie Requiem for a Dream. It touches on similar topics in terms of drugs that is used and how it changes the characters and makes them live for it.

This is one of the most fucked up movie I've seen. I love it! It's so grotesque. The message of the movie is not to be misunderstood.

What do you guys think about it?

I've got to collect myself to write more. 🤣

Have the same question. It seems to be open source but if they wanted to they could make it closed source for sure..

That is not creepy at all.

I saw it last night. I thought it was much better than what I anticipated. It does however go in the Hollywood trap and makes it much more friendlier than it needed to be. The original is much, MUCH darker and that is what I love about it, and it don't compromises and it hits you like a fist. But I also liked some additions they made like Ant trying to communicate with Agnes. I also did like the addition at the end, but I have a bit of a issue with it being to understandable, let people make their own mind about what is going on, and that's something that is very hollywood about this movie.

I do think this version was not at all necessary, but money speak as always.

Hello. I'm having a problem where i get this error everywhere when using LemmyNSFW. Any idea why this is and how to fix it?

With the remake of Speak No Evil out I was thinking about this topic. I can find that there are times where it's OK to make remakes and times where it's not. I like Chris Stuckmann's take on it; if it adds something more to the movie than what was already there to begin with go for it. But if it's just a frame by frame remake what gives? Why should I not just watch the original movie?

Speak No Evil is a really amazing movie that I really have a hard time understanding why they would make a remake of. It really did not need one, the original is really so good and effective that It will scare most people.

What do you guys think about this subject?

Spoiler alert: Do not watch the trailer of the remake if you haven't watched any of them. It's going to totally ruin the movie as it spoils mostly everything involving the plot.
