Pointing this out as I noticed in a few comments that some people where not aware of this tool

Also, you can configure your home instance with the button on the right to access a community being logged in:

DId you know about this?

Since we're on a remote server here, the search doesn't find any communities that haven't been subscribed to by a user here. To get around this, we can use the Lemmy Explorer to see all the communities we can reach.

If you find a community in the Explorer that you wanna subscribe to, just copy the [[email protected]](/c/[email protected]) address from the community card (by clicking on it) and then past that into the search on our server.

Searching like this causes the server to go to the Fediverse to find the community, so sometimes you need to try again after a few minutes for it to work.

Seems like a pretty useful website to search for communities across all instances. As the Fediverse grows I think tools like this are going to become more and more critical (and hopefully built-in to the platforms themselves).

The site: https://lemmyverse.net/communities

To see kbin "magazines" (that's how subreddits/communities are called on kbin) you have to switch to displaying them in top right corner:

Or you can just open this link: https://lemmyverse.net/kbin/magazines?order=followers

And to go back to displaying lemmy communities you have to press on "communities" in the middle on the top of the site:

For some reason, it wasnt working earlier. but now on 0.18.0, it works!

Try out the lemmyverse.net/communities search. add lostcheese or your instance as the home, then you can click on the community to explore/subscribe on your instance.

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.tgxn.net/post/11707

I made this website to crawl and display Lemmy instances since the existing ones were lacking certain filtering and search options.

I have licensed it as MIT and the code is on https://github.com/tgxn/lemmy-explorer

Let me know if there's any issues, and create a GitHub issue if you want some features :D

Great data and filters and it includes easy to copy “! community @ “ links to make it easier to punch them into the search bar to get to them and subscribe while on your own instance
